NEW CASTLE A couple arrested after allowing a stripper to dance naked at a party for Horace Greeley High School students is now under investigation by Child Protective Services for letting their 17-year-old son watch the woman's performance.
New Castle police reported Robert and Rochelle Wien to the state child abuse hotline on Thursday, Detective Sgt. James Carroll told The Journal News yesterday. The case was referred to the Westchester Department of Social Services, and a senior caseworker has been in contact with the family.
Carroll said police are required to notify the state hotline about any potential improprieties or abuse involving children under 18 years old. Nancy Travers, deputy commissioner of the county Department of Social Services, said confidentiality rules prohibited her from commenting in any way about child protective cases. She would neither confirm nor deny that the Wiens were under investigation.
The Wiens hosted a party Saturday night at their James Road home that more than 50 teen-agers attended to celebrate the end of summer and kick off the Greeley football season.
The couple's 17-year-old son, Jeremy, is a third-string quarterback on the team, and school officials have said that at least a dozen other team members attended the party. Authorities have said many students were drinking beer, and some were smoking marijuana.
When police responded for the second time that night to a noise complaint from the neighborhood, they found the Wiens and dozens of cheering students watching a 31-year-old stripper lying naked on the backyard patio.
The woman, who has not been charged, reportedly let teen-age boys lick whipped cream from her breasts and had some of them help her simulate sex acts with a sex toy.
The Wiens were each charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child, misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in the county jail. They are due in New Castle Town Court on Thursday. The couple have declined to comment on the case and were unavailable yesterday. A lawyer reportedly handling their case has not returned several telephone calls.
. to hell with their child...what about the 15 year old's there some of them girls...smoking pot and drinking..duh..
Who forced alcohol doen their throats and pumped HTC smoke down their lungs? When does personal responsiblity come in to play? The magical day one becomes 18?
Nonsense. When someone starts throwing inflated figures around (1/2 of these kids -- what kids?), you have to wonder about their motivation.
BTW, exactly how many kids have you parented?
Otherwise the law shouldn't have their nose in it.
Get a grip. Expecting parents to responsibly parent minor children has nothing to do with the nanny state. Big red herring.
My deepest apolodies to Sen. Joe McCarthy for associating your good name to this respondant.
Define "hurt." Hint: character can be hurt. Premature loss of innocence is a hurt. There are many ways to hurt children. Using your logic, taking lewd pictures of minors wouldn't "hurt" either.
Yes I agree, the stripper in this article was doing quite a bit more than just removing her clothes and dancing, she was being paid to perform sexual acts with high school kids. There is something very strange about adults who would want to watch their own son licking a prostitute and use sex toys on her. When the kid gets arrested for rape, they might not think it was all so cute.
Hmmm... so the rule of law is out, eh? Whatever happened to the state representing "the people"?
I speak from Experience.
About 70-80(avg turnout) of us all went to field parties and house parties, drank beer, some did some other things as well which I won't go into here, and I'm not admitting to anything other than having some beers there and attending. I didn't drink and drive so I still say to this day that I didn't do anything wrong.
.I keep thinking that all these "conservative" patriotic Americans here on this thread defending illegal behavior are supporting a couple and a community that is vastly Democratic, Vastly liberal, as well as very rich and who look down their noses at the likes of people on Free Republic....they are a group of people that have put clintoon and Hilary and Schumer in government...these types of parents have forced their boomer generation immorality on all of us, and here we applaud...
Well guess what...they are also going to take all your little guns away, they will regulate what church you can go to, they will continue to spend your money and your children's while providing every advantage avaliable for any non-white person , native or not, that they feel can give them a voting push.
There will be a price to pay.
So I guess when the tanks in Waco burned the kids, Reno was representing "the people'.
Since the sex acts weren't too outrageous for you, what would be too outrageous?
Here's how it works. At the first sign that someone under 18 is abusing "personal responsibility," the parent removes the same. The ultimate responsibility for someone under the age of majority is the parent... period. No one who doesn't clearly understand that has any business parenting anyone of any age.
BINGO. Corruption of a minor. Pretty serious charges. I'm thinking state laws governing "corruption of minors" could also be used in the battle against NEA and liberal school board policies that promote the sexualization of children.
Not comparable situations, my friend. Nice try.
Additionally, there were many people's children there. If anything, these people were taking the Hillary Clinton line and usurping the parents' right to decide for their own children. Your example supports my position.
