[history]
Republican National Committee Chairman Gov. James S. Gilmore III questions why the Democratic National Committee is dumping $1.6 million into New Jersey to help gubernatorial candidate Jim McGreevey "when they brag their candidate leads" his Republican rival, Bret Schundler, "by nearly 20 points."

"So far he's trotted the speech before backers in San Francisco, D.C., New York and Minneapolis. And he likes the reaction," Mr. Bedard said. The stump and his advisors show more of their stunning political prowess.
A Bush-bashing speech at these extremely liberal strongholds is received favorably. Well DUH!!! Not meaningful!

"This immense media buy by the DNC means only one thing: Bret Schundler is charging hard and Jim McGreevey and the DNC must be afraid of Bret Schundler's 'comeback kid' track record," Mr. Gilmore said in a prepared statement. It does seem a bit curious to me that the DNC would spend the funds now, instead of holding them a bit to see if their candidate with a supposed 19-point lead really needed to spend the money. One could argue either way, but given the GOP's significant fundraising advantage this year, the Democrats are going to need all those bucks next year to hold onto the Senate and try to grab back the House and governors' mansions.
I'm glad to see Gilmore getting involved in this race. Let's hope he follows it up with financial support, and that the President and Vice President lend some helping hands.

Thanks for the flag...the Dems are worried about this one...they don't just put money in a campaign where it is clearly not needed.

They know what we know.
If you give Schundler a state, he starts to get a national stage.
He's a dem killer and they know it. Why else would they spend 1.6 mil on a race that's already won?

Why else would they spend 1.6 mil on a race that's already won? Ummm, the tax deduction? No.
Hmmm, maybe to impress women!

Is McAuliffe straight?
I don't watch enough TV to even have an uninformed opinion.

Follow the money. It speaks far louder and more eloquently than press releases.

My question related to whether or not he was helping McGreevey in order to impress women.
I don't think you were referring to Soccer Moms.
BTW, we live near a soccer mom whose daughter she had enrolled in soccer. She quit after a year or two because she just didn't like the game. She's much more into baseball.
