Mugabe accepts deal to end farm invasions

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) -- President Robert Mugabe said yesterday that he approves of a Commonwealth-backed deal to end his country's farm seizure crisis. But new violence in the north of the country was reported.

Under an agreement signed last week in Abuja, Nigeria, Zimbabwe pledged an immediate end to violence and farm invasions in return for British funding for orderly land reform.

So for Mugabe's use of terrorism, he gets British money. And because the money is going towards "land reform," it means the whites are STILL going to be chased out, but this time with international approval.

There is a similarity between the land grab in Zimbabwe and the land grab in the US. The land grab in the US is more subtle but a land grab nevertheless. In some ways the Zimbabwe land grab has the moral overtone of redistributing the land.

In the US, there is no plan to redistribute, but plain intention to grab the land for the government in the tradition of the Bolshevik takeover in The Soviet Union.

Both plans jeopardize the potential food supply if carried out to the ultimate conclusion and place the food supply in the hands of government officials for ultimate control of the population.
