U.S. troops would enforce peace under Army study

An elite U.S. Army study center has devised a plan for enforcing a major Israeli-Palestinian peace accord that would require about 20,000 well-armed troops stationed throughout Israel and a newly created Palestinian state.

There are no plans by the Bush administration to put American soldiers into the Middle East to police an agreement forged by the longtime warring parties. In fact, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld is searching for ways to reduce U.S. peacekeeping efforts abroad, rather than increasing such missions.

OH GOODIE! More "peacekeeping" for our guys.

They can tell this to their grandchildren during the Middle East Peace Accords of 2055. If they get back to have kids and grandkids , that is.

Isreal will not accept U.N. troops or even many of the nato nations troops including british troops and the way the U.N. has been acting I don't blame them. We already have a few thousand in that area and I don't see any reason why they should not be used. If isreal really wants to make peace work it should be done. The alternative is an all out war that we would be dragged into considering bush needs a victory somewere pretty soon and the status of isreal as an ally plus our nuclear weapons there should not be placed in arab hands.

If we want to see plenty of U.S. Army body bags coming home full from the middle east, we should go ahead and get in the middle of this 3,000-year-old war between Jews and Arabs.

No need to get a brain wedgie.

The bright boys at SAMS need something to occupy their time and Scarborough needs something to write about.

YIKES!!! Somebody get these people a copy of Clausewitz, quick!!

Always remember what the C-Man said, that the objective of all military operations is to disarm the enemy (i.e leave him unable to resist one's political demands). That means entering a conflict with a defined enemy, and whomping his ass until you get your way. That does not mean acting as a sitting duck in-between two heavily armed camps of psychos.

The military isn't allowed to keep peace in the U.S., so they are going to practice in Israel where America is the financing demon of the Israelis - fresh targets. Naturally, this is a "UN" mission. Let's see the debate on that one.

They'll make us pay our bill first.

Any soldiers should first read the true history on the USS Liberty. Especially the part where the protecting aircraft were recalled.

Is it true that Israel gave Pollard a million bucks for spying on the U.S.? I wonder how much the families of the kids killed & crippled on the USS Liberty got?

If Israel can't handle the PA, what chance would we have?

This would make the British experience in Northern Ireland look like a picnic at the beach.

I can't think of ANYTHING stupider than this.

Of the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service, the SAMS officers say: "Wildcard. Ruthless and cunning. Has capability to target U.S. forces and make it look like a Palestinian/Arab act."

Message to 'U.S. forces': don't "have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant".

The study recommends "neutrality in word and deed" as one way to protect U.S. soldiers from any attack.

Interesting choice of words.

Luke 24:18-20

18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

Acts 7:22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

Colossians 3:15-17

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

The exercise was done by 60 officers dubbed "Jedi Knights," as all second-year SAMS students are nicknamed.

May the god of forces be with them?

James Phillips, a Middle East analyst at the Heritage Foundation, said it would be a mistake to put peacekeepers in Israel, given the "poor record of previous monitors."

Monitor Lizard

Like the snake, the monitor devours its prey whole (without 'chewing' it).

Details

The monitor lizard inhabits the hotter parts of Africa, Asia, Australia, and Malaya. Depending upon the species, its habitat may be aquatic or terrestrial. Its diet consists of fishes, amphibians, snakes, lizards, birds, and mammals along with a fondness for eggs. It has a forked tongue--similar to that of a snake-- and small rounded scales with pointed granulations; only the underparts are covered with large scales. A unique characteristic of this lizard is its mobile head that is attached to a long neck.

What has that got to do with anything? How about the Marines who died in Lebanon? At least Israel apologized and made reparations.

An NO Israel did not give Pollard a million bucks....though Robert Hanssen's wife is geting his pension....

I doubt a plan like this will ever be put into place. Sounds like a what-if scenario only.

Yes it is nice that a SAMS man opined truthfully:

On the Palestinian side, the paper describes their youth as "loose cannons; under no control, sometimes violent." The study lists five Arab terrorist groups that could target American troops for assassination and hostage-taking.

Course there are no REAL examples of what he accused Israel of....though there are of what he said about the Palestinians.
