Just received mailing from Vineland Comcast Cable outlet announcing that Fox News Channel is being added to their lineup as of 1 October...along with several other channels and a nice increase in their monthly fee, of course.

I take some personal satisfaction in this since I spent a lot of time over the last few years bombarding the Comcast website with emails asking/demanding the addition of Fox News...occasionally even got a reply, usually saying they'd like to comply but that "contractual restrictions" prevented them from doing so right away. In addition, last spring a brief story appeared in our local paper reporting that two councilmen were negotiating the renewal of the town's contract with Comcast (we're about ten miles from Vineland and have some options for different channels); the councilmen were asking for suggestions as to additions to the Cable schedule. I sent them a letter signed by three voters (my wife, my daughter, and I) asking for Fox News and accompanied by a printout of a story posted on Free Republic telling of how Fox was now outdrawing CNN in the ratings; maybe it helped. I had not realized it, but apparently local communities do have some say in what channels are fed them by the cable companies; anyone concerned about issues relating to their cable options might try contacting their local government representative, who may have some leverage. The more people exposed to fair and balanced news coverage, the sooner we can expect the extinction of rampant liberalism...

Congratulations! Fox News is far from perfect and often fails to use their air time as well as they could and should. They spend far too much time on the salacious instead of the important. That being said, it's the best out there.

Doesn't everyone have Fox already? :)

Congrats. Maybe there's hope for NJ after all. I live north of you - North Plainfield - and I've emailed and called Comcast repeatedly also. My husband and I are really considering Direct TV and I told them so.

Fox News Channel is being added to their lineup as of 1 October...along with several other channels and a nice increase in their monthly fee, of course. Watch "The Big Story" with John Gibson and "Special Report" with Britt Hume, and I think you'll agree that the increase is worth every penny.
Heck, tell Comcast to just drop CNN and PMSNBC and save you some $$$. <|:)~

I have lived in Livingston for the last year. I call Comcast weekly to ask for FoxNews. They have taken to hanging up on me!!!! My apartment has a policy prohibiting dishes, or I would buy Direct TV.
If ComCast has added FN in your area, perhaps they will add it to my area soon. I would gladly pay a price increase for it!!!!!
Congrats and enjoy FoxNews.

If ComCast has added FN in your area, perhaps they will add it to my area soon. We have Comcast here in the western Philly suburbs and they are adding FNC around the middle of this month. So you do have hope!
One of the things that made my vacation to Ocean City NJ a little more enjoyable was that they had FNC on the cable system. It was actually the first time I had ever seen it.

Actually I've been watching FNC via satellite/Directv for about three years - my "crusade" to have it added to the cable has been about making it more widely available so that more people who may not be aware of the information it carries can be exposed to that info - FNC certainly isn't perfect - in all the ways you point out - but I think it's one of the best antidotes we have for the evil effects of the conventional-wisdom, leftwing-tainted, mainstream press...thanks for your comments....

Just a little PS - Comcast did indeed come through with Fox News today...unfortunately out picture has been lousy since Friday so we couldn't enjoy it immediately...both my wife and I called Comcast and were given some gibberish about "rebuilding the system" and that a tech could not be out until Wednesday, Oct.3...meanwhile our daughter went to the NJ Public Utilities Commission website, got the number of their Cable Complaint Hotline (1-973-648-2670), and talked to "Sharon", who had a Comcast rep on the phone with us within a couple of hours. Two hours later two techs arrived, "replaced a fixture on the pole", and we are now enjoying our new channel(s) with a clear picture...I'm not sure they could get you FN, but I'll bet the PUC people could get Comcast to give some decent replies to your inquiries...as long as we're paying for big, intrusive government, we should be able to have it intrude where it can do us some good...
