The Dems have a huge advantage in getting their message out because 89% of the media are Democrats. If it was the other way around, we'd have the advantage.

That's it in a nutshell. I agree with you completely.

Unfortunately, we will never have that advantage, so we're going to have to go around them. Thank God for the internet.

Actually I thought Dick Armey came off as sincere, honest and thought that any intelligent individual listening to him could realize that we have ALWAYS used SS funds for debt paydown, Clinton increased the debt and that Bush inherited it.

On the other hand , I switched to Daschle on the other show and what a liar and no one calls him on it. How many times are they going to say the "Bush Economy"?We need a Cheney or Rush to get out on these morning shows and call them on this BS.

Did anyone see Fox News Sunday? I read in a terribly left-wing publication (American Politics Journal) that Brit Hume, during the panel segment, said that he thought that the Democrats might take back the house in 2002. Is this correct? Did he actually say that? If not, then what did he say?

Tommy Dash-hole has already told about 15 LIES in the first 30 secnds of his pitiful appearance on ABC. This boy is pathetic.

I saw that too. 10 minutes, he didn't tell the truth once. Stephanopoulos never called him on it once. Then Lott comes on and straightened some of it out, but then he talks about reaching across the aisle again (gag). I'd like to hear a Repub just once say something like, "NO, that's a bald-faced lie and Senator Daschle knows it! How he can tell lie after lie with a straight face is reprehensible!" Then, pull out a chart and SHOW people when the economy started to head south, about 18 months ago. Repubs play softball too much. Replace Lott with someone who has some backbone.

I seem to remember Brit saying something like: Bush needs to get any more tax reductions that he wants through congress now, because if the Republicans lose control in 2002 he will never get any more tax measures passed. He did seem to imply that losing control was a distinct possibility, but I don't remember him actually saying that they would lose.

Yeah, they made it sound as though Brit, in essence, was conceding next year's election to the Dingbatcrats. Could you glean, by way of their attitudes and comments, which side of the budget battle each of the panel members on F.N.S. wanted to win (Brit, Tony, Juan, Ceci and Michael)? Sorry, I missed Fox this morning and won't be able to catch it tonight! Love Brit and Tony! Barone's a good guy too.....

I agree that Republicans are gun shy too. But the reason is still the Democratically controlled media. Remember that most Americans pay very little attention to the news - most of their news is that little 5-minute sound bite at the top of the hour on some music radio station. They might tune in to the 6:00 news or the Today show while they are dressing for work. They might glance at a newspaper above "the fold" at a newstand. Newspapers and weekly magazine are hardly favorable. When Republicans do speak out - they are usually demonized in these little "bits" of news. Republicans have not grasp that 5 second sound bite, but neither have the Democrats - they just get more time.

This country needs a media revolution.

Sorry, I wasn't paying that much attention. I don't recall a lot of dissension, though. Everybody seemed to agree that tax cuts help a weak economy. Michael Barone, whose intellect I really respect, ended the talk with a great line, which unfortunately I can't remember.
C_SPAN radio, which right now is only local to DC (I think) replays all the shows from noon to 4pm and again from 11pm to 3am.

I agree with you about best thinkers etc., but if we do not do something as utterly outrageous as they do, we will be left in the dust. There HAS TO BE somebody who can write in such a fashion that it opens peoples eyes somehow... I don't care whether shrub can read well or not, you can NOT win a war on the DEFENSIVE, and that seems to be where the GOP is headed. If the networks and other media are in fact 89% in suppport of the dems, the more outrageous and bold we are, the more likely the dems will be to try and twist what is said, and that clearly gives the GOP the advantage.

George needs to get off his ass and go on the OFFENSIVE. He can't simply run with his fathers idea of do no harm. That seems to mean change NOTHING and let all stay as it is. The pres may have much to do, but ignoring so much of the last administrations garbage and seeming to look for NEW garbage (amnesty for illegals) will clearly not be of any help to him. If he cannot do a better job of picking his fights, we could be in trouble.

If there were an organization that was named say, Committee TO DUMP GEORGE, I bet he may yet have to listen to reason to some of the concerns that are so freely expressed here, among other places.

As far as that 89% is concerned, i think an attorney could easily be found to handle a lawsuit against each and every one of the major media outlets for their breach of public trust regarding their spin of all the FACTS. If what they report is not a FACT it is a LIE... whether it is called SPIN or not... know any barracudas anybody?

When Timmy finally gets back to Dick he doesn't call Joe on his hipocrasy. That, of all things, is what hurts the Republicans, IMHO. It was obvious that Biden, starting out stating how HE wasn't going to play the blame came, shifted course in less then a minute and started pointing fingers. Anyone watching would have seen it. But neither Timmy nor Dick says anything, they let the hipocrite get away with it.

It must be fantastic to be the only smart person in the world that can see through Democrats. You must think of your self as one of the chosen few with the fantastic brain that allows you to see through Biden. You say it is so obvious to you what Biden was doing. You think the rest of us are soooo stupid that we could not posssibly see what is abundantly apparent to you. You must think of yourself as the smarter viewer.

You are probably a legend in your own mind. You must spend a lot of time wondering why you are super smart and everyone else is super dumb.

For some reason Republicans simply will not get out on the street and proclaim what we believe in and why. They sit back and let the other side define us. That is why were are losing the battle of public opinion,

The reason is that this follows The Plan. As FDR has said, very little happens by accident.

"They need a Hispanic Democrat to run for Gramm's position in the Senate........ not a mystery."
And with Cisneros' proven record as a crook and a womanizer, he's a natural to head the Dims' ticket!
