[history]
September 9, 2001 -- The odd practice of Gary Condit's children calling him "Gary" and referring to him as "Gary Condit" suggests family dysfunction and hidden emotional problems, psychological experts told The Post.
It also may help the wayward California congressman "feel like a young stud," noted one psychiatrist.

Hey kat!
Do you notice a similarity between Condits head structure, the facial bones, and those of Mike Dayton?
When I see the tapes of them walking together,it strikes me that they could be father and son!Forget the glasses, and hair color differences and ages, just look at the bones!
Maybe Gary is Daddy to a whole bunch of little Condits, and decided early on to not be called Dad!
The "Gary" calling could also be part of the MO that Dad is Dad, and "Gary Condit" is another figure, another person, like lifelong friends calling Presidents, "Mr. President"!Having said all that , I think the whole pack of Condits are psychos!
Does anyone know of any dead females at the Nathan Hale High School when Gary was there?
Even suicides?
Me thinks that old Gare wasnt playing with a full deck way back then!
Oh well, I hope the Feds are checking every facet of the Condits from when Grandpappy was a youngen!

Good God, the shrinks are actually talking sense for once. Yeah, there's probably something wrong when children don't call their parents Mom and Dad, and kids actually don't like it when their father is running around with other women.

I also think that Condit looks like Tom Daschle with his gaunt facial features & his little scrawny body. . .very skeletal.

I think he's Denny Terio, the little twirp from Dance Fever in the 70's. Bizarre blow dry hairdo, skinny little body, plastic smile--it's all there. Did anyone ever see him in a disco?

I've encountered this phenomenon once in my life: a mother and father whose kids (young children at the time) called them by their first names. It was odd, but these were very conservative people and the family functioned well.
(Which is not to say anything nice about the Condits.)

Good grief, Condit is a guy who makes his kids call him "GARY" so that he can feel young? We know what he does with his body hair, and that he might enjoy kinky sex? This man is a MESS! His life is a mess, his marriage is a mess, his kids are amess. Good Lord, and this man was elected to make the rule we live with? YIKES!

What mother would allow her kids to call him by his first name? Once when my sibblings and I we small, my brother, the clown, called my parents by their first name just to make the rest of us laugh. Oh boy! My parents told us if we ever did that we'd get it accross the mouth, LOL. They saw that as a sign of disrespect to them.

Way back when we were just learnig about Gary Condit, there was info that he lied about his age to get married. Was Chad already 'on the way?' If they became parents as teenagers maybe they did not like the appellations 'Mom' and 'Dad.' "Just call me Gary,OK!"

I read that the Condits were married, moved to California and a few months later Chad was born. My understanding was that Mrs. Condit was preganet when they got married.

"Dysfunctional" doesn't even begin to cover it....
To: anniegetyourgun and Teacup
Dysfunctional DOESN'T cover it!! I actually can see calling him Gary or Gary Condit when they are at work....but anytime else??? NO! And there isn't ANY reason to call mom, Carolyn! Adrian is a complete FLAKE...the mom is also...but Adrian is SCARY! And who wouldn't be proud as punch to have a brother, son, uncle like DARRELL!! And what kind of police officer shoots themselves in the butt?? Gool ol BURL!!
I do NOT believe that story about shaving all his body hair...he had hair on his arm in that picture with him striking out at the camera person...check it out.
To: Ann Archy
Surely they, Chad and Cadee, knew they would take some flack for doing this, so the question is, why? You are all correct, this is one weird "family".

I agree with you Ann. As far as the body hair thingy, I too think that is a bit much, LOL, but sure makes for a good laugh ;^)

I don't know if the body hair thingy is true, but he's had plenty of time to grow his hair back where ever it need be, IMHO.
To: kattracks
So what? It probably started as something the kids did that sounded "cute;" sure isn't evidence he's a murderer. But if the kids weren't sticking by him when he's falsely accused of murder, that'd really be dysfunctional. What kind of kids would they be to publicly take an attitude of "I wash my hands of him" because he screwed up or because he hurt my mother? Obviously, that would hurt their mother more; she wants to believe she's still got a family, you know.
