We have full employment in America right now.

The headline of the Saturday edition of the Rocky Mountian News said,

"Unemployment Soars".

Thats TOTAL BS!!!

Then President Bush took the opportunity in his weekly radio address to spew similar BS.

"Cheney knows". So the President of the USA is either lieing to the American people or he's clueless? Same for Dick Armey and Tom Delay?

James Earl (I will never lie to you) Carter: nostalgia overwhelms me - inflation and a dead economy, long gasoline lines, high energy prices, gutless foreign policy, those basset-hound eyes, Rosalyn sitting in on Cabinet meetings, his lust for Poland, his promise to whip Ted Kennedy's ass, and best of all - setting up the country for 8 glorious years of Ronald Reagan!!

Eight years of Clinton made Carter look like King Arthur.

You make a good point....There is NO ONE in the GOP who knows how to deliver the message. They react to headlines rather than CHALLENGING them.

I cannot pull the evidence to dispute your information, but I really believe that unemployment did hit 10% at some point in the Carter years.....are you sure?...I remember the campaign qoutes that pointed out the TRIPLE double digits: unemployment, interest rates, and ???? (I can't remember the third item.

Yeah but don't blame Carter. I understand it was all due to malaise or something

They're not even trying to make your point. They're trying, as hard as they can, to deny it. Listen to Bush: "It's bad. I know it's bad. And we're going to do something about it." So the problem is not that they are failing to communicate. The problem is either that they're clueless about the fundamental tenents of good fiscal policy or that they're lieing about the economy. That's assuming you're right. The other possibility is that you're wrong and that Bush has a _major_ problem on his hands and if he doesn't make it go away the voters are going to crucify him for it.

I disagree with your assertion that they are clueless. They are NOT. They are BALL-LESS...They worry about what the press will say. The ONLY thing that saved us from Hillary-Care were those ads from the insurance assocations that quoted from Hillary's book.....the GOP doesn't know how to fight....they lack backbone...but, you are inncorrect to assert that they are too STUPID to know better....You may be a smart fellow, but you are not smarter than every member of the GOP.
