[history]
Colorado investigators are seeking the identity of an America Online subscriber who posted a message on an Internet bulletin board saying he witnessed the 1996 slaying of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey.
Boulder Police Detective Thomas Trujillo asked Loudoun County investigators to file a search warrant in Loudoun Circuit Court asking AOL for the subscriber's name, other screen names, e-mail files, buddy lists and aliases.

AOL has displayed their willingness to turn over member identity MANY times, even without warrants or court orders. In my opinion, anybody that uses AOL needs a serious mental examination. Earthlink, on the other hand, reportedly protects people's identity to the best of their ability. Something to think about...

You're welcome. Although I hope this is a legitmate lead, and remembering that the investigation of this horrible crime was botched from beginning to end, it does seem logical that the police would have already questioned a handyman who had a key to the house.

The Post story indicates, to anybody with half a brain, that the story is an obvious hoax.

Exactly. Why would the handyman (the accused), who worked at the Ramsey house, be forcing the individual (the accuser), who is now confessing on AOL, to download directions to the accused's place of work (the Ramsey's house)?!?
