THE NOW LEADERSHIP MISSES (AGAIN)
Dulles NOW ^ | September 5, 2001 | Dulles NOW Press Release

The NOW Leadership Misses (Again)

Last June 20, Andrea Yates calmly summoned police to her home where she had drowned her five children in a bathtub, one by one. She had chased and caught her oldest, a 7-year-old boy, when he tried to flee. Her relatives said she had been "depressed".

With little knowledge of Yates' life and medical history, NOW leaders rushed to side with Yates because they said they "felt" that only an insane woman could commit such crimes, and that the murders also proved that women in America were "imprisoned at home with their children". A resolution promptly appeared at the NOW National Conference early July stating how the group hated post-partum depression and the death penalty and how things are different in England, in that order.

Having magically become judge, jury, social and psychiatric professionals all at once, NOW leaders announced at the end of August that the group would support Yates politically and financially. "One of our feminist beliefs is to be there for other women" trumpeted a Texas NOW leader, forgetting how unavailable she and NOW had been for the women Mr. Clinton abused. She also said that NOW paid her to organize the effort.

Sickened NOW chapter activists from Texas and elsewhere who witnessed how the decision to bring the resolution forward was made, told Dulles NOW on condition of anonymity that the true reason behind the ghoulish enthusiasm for Yates was the belief that the case offered the perfect venue to fuel a powerful anti-Bush drive, thus anti-Republican, to be later combined with the Carla Faye Tucker execution.

Dulles NOW activists strongly condemn this unprecedented morbid and sadistic NOW campaign. It is clear that the leadership shot from the hip and missed. We urge Kim Gandy to come to her senses and end her ill-conceived organizational interference in the gruesome case, a horrifying human drama better left in the hands of legal, medical and religious experts than with medically unknowledgeable women obviously blinded by political revenge.

Oh, for heaven's sake. There are lots of working moms out here in mainstream America, who long to stay home with their kids, and can't! NOW didn't miss; they just shot themselves in both feet.

Carla Faye Tucker? In other words, NOW was actually hoping and betting that Yates is eventually executed -- in Texas, home of the former Governor GW Bush, where they have no qualms with executing female Christians.

Great strategy. NOW a champion of women's rights? Women are just pawns to be used to advance their agenda -- an agenda that goes much further than just Liberalism.

NOW would do well not to PO President Bush or push him too far. Those Executive Orders XXX-Clinton signed are still active and can be put into motion by President Bush. The all-encompassing power of Big Mama government, which NOW purports is the answer to all our problems, can be used to shut them down permanently. They had better shut up!

Can you expand on that? I'm not sure what you mean.

There are threads on FR regarding all EOs signed by Clinton, in addition to EOs signed by former Presidents that suspend the Constitution and turn the U.S. into a dictatorship under FEMA in the event of 'national emergency.'

A national emergency does not even necessarily have to be in effect. As long as these Executive Orders still exist, they have the power of law and they can be acted upon by the government. One EO in particular gives the government the right to all personal and commercial property for their use.

Perhaps another Freeper can post the links to those threads.

Yes, I have heard about those particular EO's as they relate to a national emergency (interesting how its the government that gets to define what that is), suspension of the Constitution, and FEMA --- but I'm not making the connection from there to NOW's actions and agenda.

Can you connect the dots for me?
