Junior moderators can: suspend a user from 1-7 days
Senior moderators can: ban and nuke users (nuke deletes posts and bans).
Both suspend and ban require the moderator to enter a notice to the user, which should explain the reason they've found themselves without posting privs
. Nuke is reserved for hit-n-run style disruptors, you know the type.
All three, suspend, ban, and nuke, require the moderator to make an additional comment which stays with the user record. Whereas the notice is directed to the user, this comment is directed to those who oversee moderator actions. (Namely Jim and the Captain moderator.)
1. Are we going to be required to submit our comments to the moderators in advance for approval before we can post them as replies?
2. Will our permanent record be expunged after 30 days of demonstrated improvement?
3. How do I get a transfer out of this chicken sh*t outfit?
Simple. Using the index digit of your right (or left) hand, apply a slight but quick momentary pressure on the switching mechanism of your computer's pointing device thereby instructing your browser to redirect you to a forum more to your taste. Thanks, Jim Robinson
We must have had a miscommunication. The comments I refer to are entered by the moderator when the moderator performs an action-- this is a good thing.
I plan on adding an easy way for a banned user to contest a banning; this moderator-provided comment is crucial to those reviewing the action in question.
Everything I am adding here is intended to keep FR running smoothly, consistently, and mercifully, allowing plenty of opportunity to correct any mistakes made.
And most importantly, I aim to code plenty of checks and balances to prevent any sort of "coven" from forming.
