Saw this in the Star Tribune (affectionately known as the Star and Sickle) and was reminded of this thread. Seems more people in Pigs Eye Landing are going ga-ga over this hack...
The column Around Saint Paul is here.
Fitzgerald festivities
F. Scott Fitzgerald's birthday will get extra attention this year with the publication of two new books by the Minnesota Historical Society Press.
"The St. Paul Stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald," with an introduction by Patricia Hampl, and "A Guide to F. Scott Fitzgerald's St. Paul," by John J. Koblas, are fitting tributes to the great writer and the place where he was born on Sept. 24, 1896.
On his birthday, his birthplace, at 481 Laurel Av., will be dedicated as a National Literary Landmark with a noon ceremony and walking tour. Other special events will be held at the downtown library, the University Club and the Commodore Hotel.
Gaaaah. Thank God I don't have to put up with THAT.
