The invitation to Republican Assemblyman John V. Kelly's $250-a-head "Road to the Senate" fund-raiser would suggest that road does not run past Bret Schundler's house.
Apparently it does run through Scotch Plains, home of acting Gov. Donald DiFrancesco, who is the featured guest at the cocktail reception where Kelly hopes to raise big bucks for a run at the state Senate.

The Democratic party is ready to pull out the big guns. The unions (locally and nationally) are ready to spend major bucks and break as many legs as it takes to defeat him. The media has got their knives out. And his own corrupt state party would love to see him lose.
Schundler is running against the corrupt statist politicians on both sides of the aisle. A win wont be easy, but it would be a HUGE advance for the cause of conservatism in New Jersey and nationally.
Help out if you can:
Here in the Northeast, conservatives are very few and far between, especially among Republicans. Somehow, only Republicans who could be mistaken for Socialists in a dim light have been able to get elected here. It's one of the big reasons why I haven't voted since 1988.
A Schundler victory would bring about the spectacle of a conservative Republican governor chiding liberal Republican legislators and vetoing the spending bills they send him. Though I yearn to see it -- I'm a Long Islander, sort of a nearby interested bystander -- there's no doubt that the resulting chaos would cause a lot of nominal Republicans to lose their seats in the legislature. Conservative Republicans would replace them given time, but there would surely be an interregnum during which the Democrats would return to power.
That's the price you pay when you fly a false ideological flag, and get called on it. Go, Bret. Show 'em how it's done. Maybe they'll listen this time.

No, they don't all march in lockstep. Their flexibility is reflected in the fact that they are often more moderate than the national Republican Party.
Isnt that quote beautiful?! They dont march in lockstep in their statist leanings, sometimes they march even further to the left!
Good old boys, aint they?!
This is really great for Schundler because it will highlight one of his key issues. The local media can't help but report the issue.
The title of the article from Bret's home page says it all IMO:
Lead, Follow, or Get the [bleep] Out of the Way!!!!!
Remove the deadwood, Vote Schundler for Governor!
And now Ben Stein's coming to his aid with some funny commercials. LOL!
I havent heard this. Any more info?
Of course the Hypocrats screamed bloody murder, thereby proving that it was an effective commercial.
