If it was Clinton, we would have heard how the crowd gushed over the President.

...and a brutally honest child was bound to touch off cries of foul over foosball.

It was tough being a politician in this crowd, mostly under 10 and totally unfazed by the famous men in dark suits who had journeyed far from the White House to see them.

Bush had even less luck with Carlito Avila, 7. Getting scooped up into the arms of the president of the United States gave him an acute case of shyness. Bush put their faces close to talk. Carlito didn't utter a word, and rubbed a fist at one tearful eye as Bush set him down.

"You're a good speller," Bush said as he patted the shoulder of a girl at a computer terminal. She looked up from the screen only long enough to nod and smile, so Bush shifted his attention to a nearby table where kids were engrossed in a project about insects.

So, in summary, the children were either scared, angry, or indifferent. This article was written for no other reason than to bash Bush.

Or what a wretched, unworthy crowd it was.
