Mr. Condit has not used public money or public officials (let alone cruise missiles against Sudan) in order to protect himself from scrutiny.

Ahem, using his chief of staff qualifies as using a public official to protect himself. He tried to use campaign contributions for his legal fees. If he could have found a way to launch cruise missiles, he would have.

He's as despicable as clintbilly, just as scheming, but not as lucky.

I love Christopher Hitchens when he goes after clintbilly.

Condit overestimated his power as a sitting congressman..
As 1/535th of a political body, he had nowhere near the influence exerted by or of the influence wielded by a sitting president..

As Chris Cox mentioned when questioned regarding the stealth and pressure of the means used to delete pertinant information from the "Cox Report" -he said 'never underestimate the power of a sitting president.'
