On another subject: Did anybody watch C-Span's coverage this morning of the "National Reading Fair"(title?) It was wonderful! I sure hope they repeat it later or sometime tomorrow.I had to go out this afternoon.I wanted to buy some of the books of the authors that I saw.I bought "JOHN ADAMS" and "IN THE HEART OF THE SEA." My local Barnes & Nobles is offering a 40% discount off "JOHN ADAMS." It's #2 on the NY Times Book List.

I made "Texas Governor's Mansion Cowboy Cookies" this evening and they were absolutely delicious! This is the best batch of cookies I have ever made! I'm-----years old and I can honestly say these are the most delicious cookies,I think I've ever had, certainly the best I've baked.I'm sharing them with a couple friends and a few people at my parish.

I made them for the first time on Inauguration Day & now they've become a staple at our house.

Where do you live? Even more important, when's tea time? =)

All this talk about the cookies - I'm gonna make another batch today. I live near Atlantic City, New Jersey. Can you catch the gamblers express? Only - I'm not too sure about the tea; I'm more of a cappuccino girl. LOL - my husband says I like my coffee like the cowboys drink it.

You're talkin' to a (transplanted to the West) Western gal who lives near the place where coffee became famous (Seattle). I do tea or coffee ... especially when the cookies are homemade and freeeee! Too bad it's almost a 3,000 mile trip to visit, though. Appreciate the hospitality and the recipe. I rarely make cookies but for these I believe I will make an exception! Think of me when you enjoy the next batch, as I will be enjoying them with you in spirit. ;-)
