I'm optimistic that the candidates that we are testing today will be able to provide a level of immunity |

Most of the delegates are scientists. They say they are more hopeful than ever that a vaccine will be found, as they learn more about the human immune system.
David Baltimore, one of the conference organisers, told the BBC he was "optimistic, in a way that I wasn't a couple of years ago" that vaccines being tested now "will be able to provide a level of immunity and that will make a difference, both in the United States and abroad".
There are many potential vaccines in the pipeline, but much research is still needed to test their effectiveness and safety.
Focus on Africa
Also attending the forum is the president of Rwanda, Paul Kigame, who is telling the delegates about the devastating effects of Aids on African countries.
Speaking at the UN conference on racism in Durban, South Africa, he said if the epidemic had centred on Europe, rather than Africa, and had affected predominantly white people, the response to it would have been faster and more generous.
Rwandan President Paul Kagame
explains why he is attending the conference
I don't like you, or your kind.
AIDS is caused by HIV. I don't see why you can't see this! There is a TON of research about how HIV spreads, how it decimates the immune system, and there are a TON of case studies following people who have HIV/AIDS as they degenerate and die.
There is NO scientific evidence that says HIV doesn't cause AIDS, it's extremely deranged to think that.
Modern-day scientists are some of the most thorough and honest people on this earth (more honest, on average, than used-car salesmen, politicians, clergymen, etc). If HIV really doesn't cause AIDS, don't you think more of them would speak up? And having a dozen scientists as members of your political group is meaningless, I want to see THOUSANDS of them marching with you.
Until then, I can't believe that you're anything other than a bunch of crackpots, and that the message you're sending to people is dangerous.
You are absolutely right, and I stand corrected. Baltimore caught it on a peer review on some of his source data... (sound of BtD slapping forehead repeatedly...)
Forget the glasses, invest your money in the SFO syndicate building new bath houses.
Well that's clear. But why don't you just answer my questions and maybe I can learn from you. Here they are again:
1. Can you point me to an internet source with photos of the HIV virus.
2. Can you point me to the best technical article that proves the case that HIV infection is the, make that THE, cause of AIDS.
I am a scientist. I have integrity. I can read scientific articles. I have read nothing like what you refer to but I am willing to if you can just point me in the right direction. If you can't then I am suspicious that you have never seen the articles or photos either and you are just operating on faith. That is not good enough for me. I'm a scientist.
No, because it is too small to be photographed (as far as I know, viruses are very very small). If you want electron microscope pictures, I can probably find them, but those are easily faked as they are computer-generated, I doubt that would convince you. Do you doubt HIV even exists? Why would you want a photo of it? Why???
2) 2. Can you point me to the best technical article that proves the case that HIV infection is the, make that THE, cause of AIDS.
No, I cannot. There is no way to prove that the ONLY way to get AIDS is through HIV, that probably isn't even true. The question is whether HIV causes AIDS, not whether it is THE cause.
As to your argument that you can't prove that HIV is the only cause of AIDS my response is that I don't believe you can point me to any article that proves HIV has caused even a single case of AIDS. Go look. There is no such proof. You are accepting this as fact completely on faith. God help you if you ever become HIV positive. You will then belive that you have to take AZT or some other killer drug to save yourself when all you would really have to do is just ignore it and go on with your life.
You are smart enough to be here on FreeRepublic. You should be smart enough to go figure this stuff out yourself. If you have been here long enough you should know that everything you read in the papers isn't necessarily true.
Go read what Peter Duesberg has to say on this subject at http://www.duesberg.com/. If you are really open minded on the subject you will find his arguments very persuasive.
Cheap news now that they have had to cut back expenses. Like the biggest hurricane season is projected due to global warming and so far nada.
Predictions make exciting news and don't cost as much as for reporters to go out and get real breaking news.
