I discovered Dr. Laura Schlessinger's show years ago and was instantly hooked, because she was saying so many things that I had been screaming at the radio and television for years. One of those times was when a man called to ask whether he should get a lawyer and go after his ex-wife -- whose whereabouts were unknown -- for full custody of their two children.
Dr. Laura asked why the marriage broke up, and he said that his wife believed that space aliens would come to pick her and the children up to another planet. DLS speculated that this was a sign of a woman with an established record of mental illness, and asked when she started having these thoughts. The caller said that he didn't know when it started, because she'd thought that way since they met.
Laura audibly gasped, and shouted, "AND YOU MADE BABIES WITH THAT WOMAN? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!"
The guy tried to laugh off the question. Laura wasn't having it. She demanded an answer. He kept giggling nervously. She finally said, "She's really good in bed, isn't she? That's it, isn't it?" After a long pause, he said, "Yeah, you're right."
God have mercy on Anne Heche's children. The only plus in this situation is that at least now, the kid's father will be a man!
