And didn't tell us about that prediction until AFTER the fact.I was thinking of the "Big One" - the 1991 coup in Moscow.
New Lies for Old
by Anatoliy Golitsyn (Hardcover - December 1990)
"Gentlemen, comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about glasnost and perestroika and democracy in the coming years. These are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal change within the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our purpose is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep."

Anyone with half a brain could see that Soviet Communism was doomed by the end of 1989--not a matter of IF, but WHEN, it would collapse. In other words, he accomplished the equivalent of predicting that if he let go of the rock he was holding up in the air, it would fall to the floor--not much of a prediction. Now, had he predicted the initial collapse, down to the date, in 1986, I would be impressed.

New Lies for Old
by Anatoliy Golitsyn (Hardcover - December 1990) ... Mikhail Gorbachev in speech to the Politboro in 1987 Do you trust runaway KGB officer? Just two points:
- Guy looks for cash: how to make a hot meal book? Exactly as he does. He can say whatever he wants - is there anyone capable to prove that Gorby did not say so? In turn, did Golitsyn presented any tapes? Were they examined? Sure he did not. Burdain on the accuser.
- Golitsyn may have an agenda - return of communist rule in Russia/USSR. Boosting mutual mutual hostility by such writing, he proves Communist argument about Americans as enemies and gains turf for communists.
