A TEACHER was cleared yesterday of assaulting a ten-year-old pupil who claimed that she had tipped fruit juice over him after losing her temper during a school trip.
Ann Brooks, 47, was charged with assault and causing actual bodily harm after the boys mother made a complaint to police
After Mrs Brookss acquittal, John Evans, her head teacher said that he was considering the future of school trips after the incident. We have been running school trips for ten years but we will definitely have to give some thought about continuing with them in the light of what has happened.
Too many false accusations are being brought against teachers.
Mr Evans added: I saw the alleged incident and if the police had interviewed me the matter might not have got to court at all.
