Did you are anyone you know give input to be one of the 1.6 million comments who are in favor of the Roadless policy mentioned by EarthJustice.orgEarth Justice Action Center

"The Roadless Area Conservation Rule is one of the most important conservation initiatives ever undertaken. Finalized by the Forest Service in January 2001, it calls for protecting 58.5 million acres of the wildest remaining national forest lands."

According to the article we have til September 10th to be heard. How can we use this information to work for us? Unless I'm clueless, it would seem as though all listings and conservation initiatives should be stalled until there have been a full accounting of what's been happening to people and their land.

I realize I'm not a politician so I might not be seeing as clearly. /sarcasm

Well I haven't - 1.6 million? Sounds artificial to me. Wonder if they are using the park entrance records and counting them as votes?

Looks like it is too late for much input. Any suggestions of what we can do.

At least we have many people here that do care. Surely there is someway to effectively chip away at this monster.

All I can think to do is send an email to Norton and my representatives - I do NOT support roadless forests because of the rights of Americans to enjoy their forests and because of the need for roads to handle forest fires.
