300 Cuban Americans
-------
I know of the area you mention, Ft. Myers/Naples on the west coast, and I would say this: these people are NOT actually Cubans. They are Hispanic farm workers in Immokolee. They may "look" like Cubans, but, they are NOT Cubans. That's my take on this "announcement." Maybe FOX will investigate.

Actually these people were from Golden Gate. At least that is where it said at the bottom of it. This area is big with Mexicans mainly but does have a large Cuban base that works in the hotel and resort industry in Collier and Lee counties.

That fits in with my first impression - they probably mixed in quite a few Latinos of other nationalities with the few Cuban commies that they actually had.

It wasn't clear to me that the Cubans were from Ft Meyers. If Reno rounded that many up from Ft. Meyers, that would indeed be impressive. I assumed that it was a Ft. Meyers station reporting on a statewide Cuban group. If it was an Hispanic non-Cuban group, well then er, well maybe, those folks just look all the same to her. But I doubt it.
