It's eminently fair when you have to thank yet another person (BTW, thank you Florida).

To: Bob J, Jim Robinson, others on this subthread of mass mail
While I wouldn't mind an e-mail letting me know the latest FReepathon has kicked off, the big question in my mind would be whether to do it through the e-mail given when one registers or through FReep-mail. I am sensitive to the issue of sending this kind of request through the normal e-mail route. However, if FReep-mail was used, there is, IMHO, no concern of spam.

Of course, not everybody knows about FReep-mail, but them's the breaks.

I try not to use them unless it's called for, but sometimes they slip out anyway.

Hi basil! I love it when you agree with me. Seriously, though, Free Republic is totally unique and we must do all that we can to make sure that the forum continues to grow.

Free Republic was mentioned at BusinessWeek online. The url is: http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/aug2001/nf20010828_333.htm.

And I quote: "...check out the Latest Articles page at conservative/libertarian discussion site FreeRepublic.com. Visitors, who call themselves Freepers, log an average of 2 hours and 32 minutes."

WorldNetDaily is thriving with an average of 40 minutes spent by visitors on the site vs. MSNBC averaging 23 minutes or CNN.com averaging 26 minutes. This shows how addictive Free Republic is and also the fact that you can find out all the news and views of the posters on Free Republic.

Isn't it wonderful? We can actually SAY that, here. :)PLUS, have you SEEN this place? It is awesome. Some of the best research goes on HERE. I've e-mailed all my friends who have College age children. Gave them the FreeRepublic web site. So many good articles for them to see, read, and learn from. :)
