There you are, sitting around the TV late one afternoon after getting off work. Dinner is on the stove, and life is in its usual routine. The doorbell rings.
You look out the window and there is a local cop and someone in casual attire. You answer the door, "yes"?
"Mrs. J. Q. Public? My name is Special Agent Rock with the BATF. This is Officer Crusher of the [Local] Police Department. As you know, a federal law was recently passed that requires all citizens to surrender their firearms. Our records show that you have two shotguns and a pistol. We have a federal warrant requiring you to surrender these weapons at once. We will accompany you to retrieve them."
Far fetched? Just wait, it's going to happen. Forty years ago, who would have believed that society would find it legal and even justifiable to murder an infant as it was being delivered from the mother's womb? Forty years ago, who would have believed our president could get away with [fill in the blank with your favorite] crime? Forty years ago, we began the rapid decent on which we currently ride. Our speed is picking up.
It's only a matter of time.
