We've been following Bret Schundler's campaign since before the primaries - he is truly an outstanding candidate! We'd be happy to help out with Bret's campaign, if our schedules cooperate. (We will be on the FR cruise the week of Oct 14-20).

We'd especially love to be a part of any of Bret's rallies, but would also be interested in the other volunteer activities mentioned.

I've mentioned this on some other Schundler threads: Bret's radio ads that we've heard on WABC (and perhaps WCBS) are fantastic!

If you check my profile or Exit148's profile, you will see that we are both NJ FReepers. Next objection? ;-)

I know you're both in Jersey. But the post I was replying to sounded like you wanted me to head this thing up. Kinda hard to do from VA. :-) No worries.

Try getting a paleoconservative and a neoconservative to get along and you will quickly see this truth.

I was going to suggest that the author must have perused some FR threads, until I fixed upon the exact identity of the author. :)

Nice piece. Relative moderates/liberals that believe in market mechanisms, and are skeptical of the efficacy of many government works, are quite cross pressured these days. Just where they choose to break bread is a somewhat complex calculus, and requires a fair amount of strategic thinking. It would be even more difficult if the Democrat party ever managed to free itself from the iron grip of the NEA and trial lawyers, at least for me. Until then, I know where my really dangerous enemies lie.

Cheers.

For some reason, certain key words got dropped in my post, to wit: Relative moderates/liberals on social issues. I don't consider myself a "liberal," or indeed really a "moderate," as opposed to a "moderate conserative," or "neocon" to be more precise, overall.

Here's a bump and a refresher index bump

That was a great article. Thanks for giving us the pleasure of its viewership.

I'm all ready. I'm volunteering to the best of my ability for the campaign. I'm putting together those lawn signs, handing out the bumper stickers, and harassing people over the phone. As far as I can see to it, Bret will be the next Governor of the State of New Jersey.

In these times of national disaster and dire terror, what we need is a capable, dynamic executive to be our Governor, not a low-class legislative personality who's revolutionary ideas include levying a luxury tax on toilet paper.

If we can pull this off, this will be the catalyst to a new Conservative revolution. Those of us who have held our noses and voted for "moderates" because they claim that only they have a divine mandate to electability will no longer have to make that plunge. We'll be able to toss the Jim Jeffords' of the country overboard, en masse.

But, it's got to start somewhere. And that somewhere is here. The Garden State.

Let's elect a winner. GO BRET GO!
