Gov. Gavin Newsom’s decision to convert 548 death sentences to life in prison without parole has sparked frustration and heartbreak among families of murder victims, including those of Michael Lyons and Sacramento County Deputy Danny Oliver.

Yep! I was in a mass shooting over 37 years ago. The guy who did it got the death penalty and is one of the ones who got his sentence commuted.
im upset about this. It’s a smack in the face to the victims.

Having trouble posting too?
Well they can’t even figure out how to kill the killers. I don’t know what the answer is.
Lingering 37 years on death row is not executing the will and verdict of the jury. Take some relief in knowing nothing has really changed. The creep will most likely die in prison before they would have executed him anyway.
The party that places so little value in life that it loves abortion and euthanasia sure fights hard to save the lives of the non innocent.
Even God teaches us to support the death penalty. He killed the wicked with a great flood.

I have noticed lately, lots of double, triple posts, and more.
In Biblical justice (in which there are many capital offenses) not only are 2 or 3 eye-witnesses (a principle) required for conviction but those whose false testimony caused one to suffer are to receive the punishment that there false testimony resulted in. (Deuteronomy 19:15-21)
Moreover, public stoning was the normative Biblical form of capital punishment, versus antiseptic executions by the state, and communal stoning corresponds to crime also being against the community in general, and serves as a deterring reminder to all of the consequences of sins (and of false testimony), as well as providing a better sense of justice.
It actually punishes the community which the killer attacked (thus the normative means of capital punishment in the Bible was by communal stoning), in the broad sense, by forcing them to pay for housing for years.
Median state spending is about $60,989 per year per prisoner. igh-Security / Death Row varies drastically from lower-cost states like Mississippi (~$19,890) to high-cost states like Massachusetts (~$284,976) as reported by USAFacts. But before this, I wish that an hour was required for a gospel preacher to convict the murderer that God knows every-thing he/she did, and why, and that Hell awaits them, unless they whole-heartedly repent unto God and believe in the risen Lord Jesus to save them by His sinless shed blood, dying for them and rising again, and to glory as mankind's present savior and future judge. And be baptized to formally confess that faith. And be given space to sincerely apologize to those they hurt, before any execution.
I hear you. 504 Gateway Time-out has become one of the most visited pages on FR.
It’s obvious that Newsom did this to create permanent jobs for Democrats who have to deal with them. Permanent votes for the Democrat Party. Actually, from a power point of view, it’s genius.
I get that too, but I don't repeatedly hit post until the comment finally does post.
And I also hit preview first to insure the spelling is correct.
GROK reports over 1,000 total murder victims these pardoned criminals committed
Notice he did this right after the election. Law and order be damned.
