The Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries both left the court before the national anthem ahead of Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Saturday at Chase Center.
And they were back within seconds of it ending.

The last time I checked, we do not play the National Anthem before a Taylor Swift concert. Or other popular spectator events with thousands of fans.
Most Americans are glad to have the National anthem performed at the start of sports games. It reminds us of what is important and how lucky we are to be a part of this great Nation, able to enjoy the freedoms men & women fought & died to preserve.
Both teams can go play in Iran see how walking off the court for their national anthem gets them, and if they are lucky they still get to keep their head
I actually agree. I think it cheapens the National Anthem to play it at every rinky dink sporting event.
The WNBA are about 70 percent pissed off black lesbians, they hate the fact that white women like Sophie Cunningham who are pretty came in and took the spotlight off of them
Revoke their citizenship, deport them to Russia. Do not allow entry forever more.

Agreed. It should remain sacred. We are not giving it the proper respect that it deseves.

It’s the league’s choice. To many it’s not a major league game w/o the anthem. It’s also common courtesy. If someone can’t respect the Country’s National anthem perhaps they should find a Country they can be proud of rather than just leaching off the USA while badmouthing it.
They should play The Black National Anthem which is Zip-ee-dee-doo-dah Zippa-dee-yay. Not a hundred percent sure about that. It could be Gib Me Dat Bootay.
Marginalizing the National Anthem to protect it. That’s a novel idea.
The pledge of allegiance every day at the start oof school. Memorizing the preamble to the Constitution and standing for the National Anthem. These things knit Americans together & gave us a common purpose and identity. Stripping these traditions from daily life and from our culture has contributed to the fragmentation and disaffection that plagues modern life.
