Heads up for any Guamanian FReepers. Are there any? Haven't been there since 1950 as a 3 year old so not much remembered. Anyway, stay safe. Looks like it could be nasty. My mom used to tell me about sheltering away from our quonset huts when we lived there. YIKES!

I lived through two typhoons on Guam 1967 to 1969. This one sounds like a really bad one.

Went through two typhoons at Anderson AFB, Guam, in the late 70's. All the birds were evacuated to Okinawa and all other personnel parked our vehicles between the aircraft blast-shields out on the ramp for protection and just hunkered down in base housing (which was very solidly built). Saw quite a few hundred-mile-an-hour coconuts go by.
Other than that (and the big skeeters) it was a lovely place.

😊👍🇺🇸. Years later, after we left, a Japanese soldier was found in the mountains. Guess he didn’t get the memo. I coulda been kilt.

It’s time to rearrange all the corregated sheet metal and cardboard houses.
