Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas Kristi Noem said she is confident that Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-5) will face consequences after federal authorities raided her home earlier this week.
During an appearance on Benny Johnson’s podcast, Noem touted Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) efforts to “find our lost children” and “stop traffickers all around the world.”
She added, “The fact that they are the ones who raided this house and are conducting this investigation gives me confidence that she will finally be held accountable for the crimes that she's committed in the United States.”
When Johnson asked what specific crimes Omar committed, Noem indicated they could be related to her immigration application.
"Well, I'll just speak generally to, to when we look at people that come to this country, uh, when they make an application, you have to make sure that everything that they told you is truthful, and you make sure that it's factual. So, you know, looking at her, you would look at her documents. You also would look at her family's documents. Sometimes people come to this country because of a familial relationship. We know that her father came to this country. Was he truthful in what he said on his documentation when that application was made, and how it was certified? When you go back and you find that anything could be wrong or misrepresented, well, that's when it voids or cancels out their citizenship process, and they no longer deserve or can legally be in this country."

In before the naysayer trolls, lol.
And I will be the first to say no.
Prove me wrong.
“...what specific crimes Omar committed”
Where do we start?
Kristi Noem is no longer the Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas as of this morning.
billy ayres sydrome? Guilty as hell, free as a bird?
You must be absolutely insane if you think she’s going to be criminally processed and found guilty and end up in jail. I’m just taking it from history, especially the last two years so you keep thinking it’s gonna happen. Nobody’s stopping you.
Omar’s winery was inexplicably valued at $5M in 2024 up from $15K-50K on official Congressional documents in 2023. Wines were marketed online but there were no signs of a functioning winery facility, tasting room, or production operations at the listed address.
Omar’s Santa Rosa, California-based wine label, eStCru LLC, co-owned by husband Tim Mynett, formally ceased business operations and was terminated on April 4, 2026. Even before its formal shutdown, investigations and reports revealed that it had not actively produced or sold wine for quite some time.
The cover story was that the winery business operated strictly as a “direct-to-consumer label” through a wine-making collective from 2020 to 2023 with actual wine-making facilities elsewhere.
By late 2023, the business had effectively “gone dark,” featuring a dead online presence, disconnected phone lines, abandoned social media pages, and zero wine available for purchase. The entity faced several lawsuits from wine investors alleging fraud and unfulfilled returns.
The business became the center of heavy political scrutiny when Rep. Omar’s congressional financial disclosures initially valued her husband’s stake in the inactive winery at up to $5 million, before she later amended the filings to show it actually carried no net value.
There’s also “securities fraud” or “investment fraud.”
REALITY CHECK: Omar initially valued her husband’s stake in the inactive winery at up to $5 million, before she later amended the filings to show it actually carried no net value.
Over-evaluating a business to secure investors is classified as “securities fraud” or “investment fraud.” The exact legal burden required to prove this offense depends on whether the case is civil (investors suing for their money or SEC enforcement) or criminal (prosecutors seeking prison time).
The legal frameworks and standard evidentiary burdens are structured into distinct civil and criminal categories. If investors or regulatory bodies (like the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)) bring a civil action, the standard burden of proof is typically a “preponderance of the evidence” (meaning the allegation is more likely true than not).
Under statutory laws like SEC Rule 10b-5 or state “Blue Sky” laws, plaintiffs must prove five core elements:
A false statement or omission of fact that a reasonable investor would consider important. Fabricating revenue, hiding liabilities, or using entirely unsupportable, fake projection metrics to inflate the valuation.
The intent to deceive, manipulate, or defraud, or a reckless disregard for the truth. Knowing the business metrics are fake, or completely ignoring standard valuation methods to intentionally generate a deceptive high value.
This Omar dustup is a lot bigger than a just a bad date on immigration papers. There are people that immigrate to the US that don’t have birth records.
Good points.
Just remember, if you’re going to go after the king, don’t miss.
If nothing happens as a result of this, they will have big-time egg on their faces.
Forget jail. I would love to see her citizenship revoked and deported back to Somalia.
I want her citizenship revoked, spend years in prison (without conjugal visits from her brother), then be deported.
