Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan (D) leads her GOP opponent, former NFL sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, in a new poll on the state’s U.S. Senate race.
The Minnesota Star Tribune/KARE 11 Minnesota poll found 47 percent of respondents supported Flanagan, while 43 percent backed Tafoya, 9 percent were undecided and less than 1 percent picked someone else. The 4-point gap is within the poll’s margin of error.
Tafoya led among independents in the typically blue state with 38 percent support, compared with 32 percent for Flanagan; 29 percent were undecided, and 1 percent picked another candidate.
Flanagan’s independent supporters told the Star Tribune they supported her over Tafoya because of their opposition to President Trump, particularly for Operation Metro Surge, the deadly immigration raids in Minneapolis, and his war in Iran. The poll found 38 percent of Minnesotans approved of Trump’s performance as president, while 58 disapproved and 4 percent were unsure.
The Department of Homeland Security’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota set off massive protests in the state following the deaths of U.S. citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were fatally shot by federal immigration officers in separate incidents.

I’d love to see her win. But, Jake, it’s...Chinatown...
Running this through the bias filter tells us she’s slightly ahead with voters but likely not enough to overcome the late night ballot dump.
More fraud from Minneadishu.
Ive seen polls showing the Jihadist Flannagan up only 1 point..either way, this is Minnesota, where fraud is the name of the game and shes supposedly up ONLY by 4, so how is that a blue wave
Some states just can’t be saved. Rioting in the streets, fraud, and corruption are the ignored status quo because, you know, evil conservatives or something.
Yeah, and beto was supposed to crush Cruz. Butt, minneadishou/mogunappolis mind set.
The source is 100% democratic; understand it’s a paper printed exclusively for DNC employees of Congress....
Minnesota voters are very happy with their deeply corrupt government.
Four more years!
Four more years!
Four more years!
This poll fits a pattern I’ve noted previously and experienced pollsters know this.
It’s mid October and favored dems seem well short of 52-53 ranges that indicate a likelihood of victory.
The polls consistently show 8-9 percent undecided which is too high at this point. It means about 6-7 percent do not want to tell the pollsters something they will be bullied for— I’m voting republican.
Polls look relatively ripe for republican upsets.
I love that description. I think I will share it, thank you.
Minneapolis Star poll. Worthless.
We win if we paint any Dem with the broad brush of Communism and radical Islam, from POTUS down to dog catcher.
Stop nitpicking meaningless issues.
I have gotten Tafoya texts for “Just $15” from at least 20 separate phone numbers.
Republicans do not respect potential donors. Any time they say “You are removed,” you are also added to two more phone numbers or emails.
Seriously, I have gotten a maximum of 74 campaign emails, a day, and that limit has been hit at least four times—on just one of my email addresses. All the other days have been from 43-73.
As for texts, I permanently block every one, yet, I get 4-13 a day.
There is absolutely no way to remove yourself from this GOP spam, except move to a completely different email address, and that email address is one I’ve had for over 20 years.
I can’t tell you how uptight this gets me.
If Republicans can lift their fat arses out of the recliner then Tafoya will win.
I’ve heard from some quarters that her latest “main ad” is missing the mark — she explicitly calls herself “pro-choice” and the ad in question touts her “non-partisan” credentials.
I do think there’s a time and a place for that — Just win, baby! - but you have to be careful.
It’s a tightrope between trying to snag a few ‘normies’ while simultaneously not throwing the base under the bus.
I’m not a professional politico - and I still think Tafoya is my darkhorse seat flip bet, but I think she made a misstep here.
You don’t put that stuff in an ad - it won’t convince the leftists, it only demoralizes the conservatives who would otherwise back you.
Stay away from the clear lines (and obviously, abortion is one). Find something neutral - and in Minnesota? Corruption is the best line of attack.
Yes , but how else are candidates supposed to get money? I know it’s irritating , but that’s just the way it is. Small sacrifice to keep the country from becoming a commie 3rd world toilet.
Uh huh...polls
I can still remember when state-wide, Republicans would frequently win in Minnesota.
What happened?
Pollsters lie.
Polls are inaccurate.
Polls are non-transparent and no one has any idea what they actually did, if anything.
Polls are fake.
Anyone who believes polls is a gullible idiot, tantamount to believing what is said by CNN or MSNOW.
