President Donald Trump's agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin to boost diesel supplies is drawing criticism from within his own party, exposing Republican divisions over the White House's latest attempt to bring down fuel prices ahead of November's midterm elections.
The pushback follows Trump's announcement Friday that Putin had agreed to supply millions of tons of diesel fuel to United States and global markets. The administration subsequently authorized transactions involving Russian diesel, with the Treasury Department issuing a temporary license allowing Russian-origin diesel to reach global markets.
The move drew scrutiny because Congress just weeks ago approved the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, legislation intended to increase pressure on Moscow over the war in Ukraine.
While Trump, ahead of the November midterms, has cast the arrangement as a way to ease soaring fuel costs hurting truckers, farmers and consumers, some Republicans argue it risks undermining Washington's efforts to pressure Moscow over the war in Ukraine.
When asked about Republican criticism of the deal, a White House official referred Newsweek to Trump's public comments.

Naturally
Don Bacon is critical of President Trump...oh my...and in other news the sun will rise from the east tomorrow...
Trump could bring world peace and prosperity, and Newsweek would find the Republican who was angry because war and poverty are more fun.
Notice when a Dem does something ZERO pushback, but when it comes to Trump, if any Republican can get their ugly mug on TV to trash him they will do it
The Ukraine Supporters in Congress are mad because they were counting on high diesel prices to drive Trump out of office early next year. Now it won’t be so easy.
“Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, which tracks U.S. gasoline prices, estimated that 60% to 65% of the recent diesel price spike stems from Ukrainian attacks on Russian facilities, with the remainder caused by Iran’s efforts to choke off transit through the Strait of Hormuz and other vital transit points.”

Apparently the population of NYC bought into islamic socialism without a peep of protest.
That’s right. The Repubs are determined to lose the House & Senate in the upcoming election by dissension within ranks which the demoncRAT media will play up to its hearts content.
So what. The elephant in the room is that NATO members are buying gas from Russia and at the same time calling them the enemy. How much gas ? 38 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas annually. We need get out of NATO, right now, not another dime from the United States.
The real problems in fuel supplies and pricing are due to lack of refining capacity. Nobody has been allowed to build or rebuild a refinery facility for 35 years now. We have a hundred million more in population, but only 45% of the refining capacities we had in 1980. Bad things will happen.
RINO Pushback Over Trump’s Putin Diesel Deal
Lowers fuel prices and takes Iran off the news.
Is importing Russian diesel legal now? Have the conditions allowing importing Russian diesel been satisfied?
If it is illegal and if the conditions have not been met, then this seems like an unforced error on Trump’s part.
Is Trump trying to be impeached again or even worse?
The amount of Russian diesel fuel he’s talking about importing is almost nothing compared to what the US goes through each day, so why is he doing this?

So, what else is new?
Propaganda/exageration is the only tool available to the communists...
Americans don't care as long as gas is cheap again.
Otherwise, Democrats will win big in November.
1.8 million tons of diesel
3.6 billion pounds
~500 million gallons
~4 gallons per Russian
~$20 per Russian
~$6 per American
End of the world?
No, simply losses for mainly Democratic diesel fuel speculators.
Stop betting againest American consumers!
What does Karl “Turd Blossom” Rove have to say?
The Ukraine war needs to end so things can go back to normal.
