Illinois GOP's Real Problem Isn't Money. It Doesn't Want Trump's Candidate To Win

With just over 40 days until Election Day for the midterms, the Illinois Republican Party has yet to provide a meaningful financial boost to the man carrying its banner for governor: Darren Bailey, whom President Donald Trump reaffirmed his support for this week.

"I’ve already endorsed him. I’m all for Bailey," Trump said.

The establishment prefers to lose the election and retain its power rather than the party win and they lose their personal power.

He wasn’t my pick. He didn’t win last time, but for some reason he thinks he can do it this time.

Republicans haven’t won statewide since 2014, if you count Bruce Rauner as a Republican.

The GOP. Spit. They’d rather lose than let a Republican they didn’t want to be nominated, win. Even if it means the democrats gain power. Disgusting.

I'd want to know if the Illinois GOP actually has any money, and if so, who (if anyone) are they spending it on.

The GOP has zero chance of winning the gubernatorial election. I think it'd be perfectly reasonable if they're spending the money they have on down-ticket candidates who actually have a chance to win.

I’m going to vote for Bailey. Illinois cannot survive four more years of Pritzker. Hopefully, you will too.

Yeah. Why waste limited resources on a race you can’t possibly win when you can spend them on races you’ve actually got a shot at?

No need for your disinformation. That is not what the GOP is doing here.

The GOP hates us conservatives, the track record is very clear. They just recently tried lackluster funding for Ken Paxton, leading outside conservative groups to have to fund him instead.

oh of course Texas we can’t possibly win! *yawn*

This is a GOP vendetta. It always is. They’ll spend zillions and gafillions and bajillions to get the McConnells and Cornyn’s elected though, even if those candidates would lose.
