The gathering was held three days before the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, focusing community opposition against the DSA and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Demonstrators and community activists gathered outside the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) headquarters in downtown Manhattan for a rally organized by the EndJewHatred movement and the Lawfare Project on Tuesday.

The rally, titled “Unite Against Terror,” took place at the corner of Essex Street and Straus Square near the DSA offices. The gathering was held three days before the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, focusing community opposition against the DSA and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

New York City experiences a marked rise in antisemitic incidents.

The rally unfolded against the backdrop of a marked rise in anti-Jewish incidents in the city, with recent New York Police Department data showing that hate crimes targeting the Jewish community continue to drive local offense statistics.

Critics and community leaders have increasingly blamed Mamdani for fueling these tensions, pointing to his rhetoric regarding Israel. Protesters stood with victims and families of 9/11 and directed a message to city leadership that terror has no place on local streets, while speakers addressed the growing crowd.

Cheri Sparacio and Mike Weinstein, relatives of people killed on September 11, 2001, took the stage to voice sharp opposition to Mamdani’s planned appearance at the upcoming 25th-anniversary ceremony.

I really wish 100,000 people would show up, but we always have the same critical problem of these sorts of events are poorly advertised beforehand so none of us can take off work to go.

It’s not like back in the Tea Party, where events were weeks and even sometimes months in advance.

We do have plenty of lazy couch sitters to be sure, but we also have plenty of people who in good faith would show up if they simply knew when it was happening.

When to schedule work, hotels, rentals, or road tripping time.

I road tripped up to D.C. for the Tea Parties; hotels etc. Some of the best times of my life.

People who have actually protested are the only ones who can understand just how much fun protesting really is. It is genuinely enjoyable.

Our side is far behind. There has to be a buildup of protests and especially facing off groups of the two sides as in Britain.

Our side hasn’t done it but in the 60s there were many protests, of course.

Cartoonist Ron Cobb had a collection book called Mah Fellow Americans satirizing Lyndon B. Johnson in the distance at a podium with hundreds of helmeted cops between him and the people in the foreground. He was so hounded that J. Edgar Hoover privately met with him and advised him to drop out of the re-election race (which he then did). Hoover: “I cannot guarantee the country will hold together due to the increasing size of the protests.”

The difference being, Our government still cares about We The People, especially under DJT.
Brits just don’t give a single flying fk about the ordinary peasants.
But aye, we do need more people out in the streets, making the PTB notice the unhappiness of their electorate

Protesters are nothing. Do you really think they’re gonna change anything?
