As students across California head back to school, it’s a good time to highlight an all-too-common contributor to asthma attacks in children: exhaust pollution from diesel-powered school buses. Thankfully, there’s a solution that’s ready and available for school districts. Electric school buses provide a zero-emission ride to and from school for kids, which means zero time spent inhaling toxic fumes from their own bus.

A new electric bus generally costs between $300,000 and $1,400,000

Electric buses have high upfront costs, limited travel ranges per charge, and performance drops in cold weather

Maybe they should consider this because the Dems' anti-Capitalist, "Green" policies will drive them back into the Stone Age.

From the article: And the threat is not felt equally: Black students, children with disabilities and low-income students rely on diesel-burning school buses more than others, and thus are more likely to suffer from asthma than other children, along with Native American children and children from some Asian American communities.
Diesel school buses are racist

They need to quit bussing kids across the districts to achieve racial equality.

Give the little dears oxygen masks to wear on the bus so they don’t have asthma attacks. Cheaper than junking the whole fleet.

Problem solved.

In our rural school district, electric busses are impracticable, students involved in sports must often travel 200 miles or more round trip for say a football game and the electric busses can’t go the distance.

If only those bus makers would stop piping the diesel exhaust into the passenger cabin! Wouldn’t that be a simple solution?

I managed to live 68 yrs without meeting a single person, much less child who had asthma. But I guess I should stop driving and replace 409 quintillion tons of the atmosphere to help these imaginary victims

Well yes, Lisa is an idiot. She’s the Executive Director of this group of idiots. They check all the boxes about equity and climate change. And click “meet our team” to view the visibly insane crew that runs the joint.

Thank you for referencing that article artichokegrower,

Did California forget about its zero-emission school bus project?

Blue state politicians dream up socialist escapism projects to spend tax dollars to get elected, the problem being that at least part of the funding for any project, if it doesn't disappear altogether, is allegedly being used to help keep free-ride Democrats and RINOs in power.

The states desperately need to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th Amendments, popular vote for federal senators.

Theywould rather you did. Ditto for all the non-ICE fire trucks and such. All such crappola is for relatives of the approving politicos — AFTER same politicos have skimmed the pot of dosh.

Giving any Fed $$ to any program in CaCaLand is like giving needles to your addicted nephew . WUT the ‘Ell are you thinking?

Ha..I had to walk 5 miles up hill in the snow to school and 5 miles in more snow to get back home.

If I was lucky and had some pocket money I could buy 6 pennyworth of broken biscuits at the corner store.

The store also had a machine to refill the new Biro pens with blue ink.
