When visiting a new place, one should follow local rules and customs. Hence the old axiom, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”
Apparently, in modern Britain, that requires a nine-page government instruction manual.
The U.K. Home Office recently published “Understanding Behaviours and Expectations in the UK: A Guide for Asylum Seekers.”
It begins by acknowledging the obvious:
We understand that coming to a new country can be difficult, and that laws and customs here may be different from your home country.
Fair enough. Every country has its own laws and customs.
But the British government’s instructions go well beyond reminders to queue politely, drive on the left, or know when to say “cheers.”
The booklet explains that women in Britain can work and earn their own money, attend university, travel freely, choose whom to marry — or whether to marry at all — and make their own decisions about their lives.
It specifically tells asylum seekers that women do not need permission from a husband, father, brother, or any other man to engage in these activities. Men are instructed not to control what women wear, where they go, whom they see, or the decisions they make.
Then things get more basic.
The booklet explains that migrants must not physically or verbally abuse their spouses or family members. It also explains that sexual contact requires consent, including within marriage, and that someone who is asleep, drunk, or unable to respond cannot consent.
It explicitly states that nonconsensual sex is rape.
It further explains that the legal age of consent in Britain is 16 and that sex with anyone under 16 is a serious crime.
Stop and consider why a modern Western government believes it necessary to put these matters in writing. In a booklet.

Apparently, “Don’t beat women,” “Don’t rape people,” and “Don’t have sex with children” cannot be assumed to be universally understood by everyone seeking to enter the country.
In some countries I have visited, women are covered almost completely from head to toe, while the men beside them may dress much as I do, in casual pants, jeans, or a T-shirt.
I would not choose those customs for my wife or daughter, but I recognize that I am visiting someone else’s country.
I respect its laws and customs while I am there. Then I return home to America, where I live by ours.
This isn’t rocket science.
And that is what makes the British booklet so revealing.
The issue isn’t simply immigration. It is immigration without assimilation.
They came to our country; they need to adapt to us. That’s not to say they should totally abandon their culture, but they need to fit it into the culture of our country.
This is right up there with midnight basketball. The answer is to not allow anyone from a turd world culture into a civilized society. In many cases it is as if you brought someone from the ninth century into modern times. As Spock told Captain Kurk after their adventure in a brutal medieval alternate universe, “You, as civilized men, could pretend to be barbarians. As barbarians, they could not pretend to be civilized men.”

The other day the mayor of L.A. instructed police not to enforce any laws or rules involving street food vendors. So nothing has changed.
90+ percent should be the new comers adjusting. But all new comers will have an effect on a culture.

Agreed. And to the leftist mind our culture isn't worth preserving. They think our western culture should be destroyed and replaced with marxism, and they see Muslims as a useful tool to accomplish that. Meanwhile Muslims see the leftists as useful idiots.
When I visit a foreign country: “Remember! You’re a guest in their country, so you must respect their ways!”

Asylum seekers? That’s funny right there. The UK is being invaded by young, military-age members of a death cult. They come to conquer.
When the guide’s title is itself incorrect, don’t expect what follows to have any value.
It is laughable that Brits believe a “govt booklet” targeted
at marauding invaders... bent on conquest... need to be told:

In the Bible says that foreigners living in a new country must respect the laws and customs of the new country.
That question has already been answered by the Muslims.
Anywhere they go to stay, they want to change their new homes to become Islam. They decide how their new homes will be changed to their Islam world view; not the other way around.
The don’t move from their homelands to adapt to how their new homes operate; they intent to change their destinations to how Islam operates. Adapting to their new countries is anti-Islam, anti-Muslim, anti-Allah. Notice how EVERY politician who is Muslim has decided to follow Allah and the Koran and don’t want anything to do with how the U.S. or Europe operate.
