Ontario Premier Doug Ford is slamming Donald Trump as a 'loser' and the 'king of bankruptcies' after the US president criticized him on social media Monday afternoon.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump referred to Ford by name as 'the less charismatic, intelligence, and overall unimpressive brother of the late, great, Rob Ford."
The post came hour after an interview with "The Morning Rush with Bill Carroll" in Ottawa in which Ford said that Trump could 'kiss my *ss".
At a news conference in Hamilton on Monday afternoon, Ford initially said that he wouldn't respond to a 'dictator' and 'bully' like Trump before going on a prolonged rant about the U.S. president.
Ford also doubled down on his earlier remarks, saying "I have a lot of real estate on my *ss, so he has a lot of room to kiss my *ss."...

The POTUS needs to distract from the Iran War mess IMHO so why not stir it up with Canadian politicians.
Russia lost the Ukraine War too and Putin is wearing a diaper I’ve heard that kind of talk before.
I think we have an advantage over Canada but their politicians using Donald Trump as a ‘whipping boy’ will help their popularity for now.
The crunch comes when Alberta is asked to cut off oil to the USA. Premier Danielle Smith opposing that.
As for Doug Ford his “Trump Card” is cutting electric power from Ontario facilities used in the Northeastern USA.
Not directing this at you but I hear the argument that Canada could cut off the oil from Alberta from being sold into the USA.
Suppose they do that, then what ??? Is the oil going to stay in the ground or will it be sold to other buyers not including the USA.
Since Oil is a commodity, if it gets sold into the open market it won’t affect the price the US pays to import oil to offset what Canada is withholding. Not to mention that Canada has limited options when it comes to shipping oil to either their East or West Coast, not to mention their tanker ban on their Pacific coast.
If it stays in the ground, who does that hurt the most, Alberta will get devastated.
Ford cutting off Ontario electricity to the USA the more interesting thing IMHO.

If Canada cuts those oil exports to the USA, US oil exports to Europe would get cut about the same.
IMO, Ontario cutting of electricity to the USA would have negligible results, electrical grids are interconnected, if Ontario cuts of electricity to the USA, electricity from other areas in the USA would be shifted to make up the difference.
In effect, Electricity is a commodity just like oil, yes Ontario could make it more difficult for the USA but cutting off electricity would also cut off a major source of revenue to the province.
Canada is less than 1/10 the economy of the USA, anything they could do that impacts the USA would be felt multiple times worse in Canada.
Remember there is a country in South America that ships heavy crude oil similar to the oil coming from Canada, a few months ago we took out their leader in the middle of the night, he’s now in a Federal Prison in NYC.
Ramp up the oil from Venezuela, which will take some time, but can be done, that oil gets shipped to refineries along the gulf coast of the USA and Alberta becomes less and less important.
Here in the northeastern US the temperature is 85 degrees but the electric company calls me saying they expect a peak usage day in the afternoon. That’s what they used to say on 100 degree days.
Data centers southwest of me in Loudoun County, Virginia outside Washington 90 miles or so caused a glitch for customers in a wide area one morning last month.
I came home resetting time on the microwave and oven in my home etc.
Not to mention that Canada can be nullified in the electricity market if the US gets to nuke building.
The value of Canada’s oil exports to the USA far exceeds the value of Ontario’s electricity exports, perhaps by a factor of 20.
And the price of that oil is high right now.
It would be a shame if it couldn’t be sold at that high price.
I’m not sure how relations got to be so bad.
My gut feeling is that we are witnessing political drama when it comes to trading with Canada-tariffs.
It’s designed to distract from the Iran War mess including high gasoline prices and the failure to achieve regime change in Iran.
Wars were waged by the Bushes in 1991 and 2003 not during the even numbered years when elections are held.
That looks to be a big mistake by President Trump he should have started and ended conflict with Iran last year kept cool this year to resume if he wished in 2027.

I suspect China. China seems to be seducing Canada to let it replace the U.S. in its symbiotic relationship. China has been repackaging as Canadian high tariff items, like steel, to work around Trump's punative tariffs. The U.S. has asked Canada to not cooperate.
But China's influence up north has been increasing. I think they have convinced Carney and others that they no longer need to play little brother to the U.S. I think such an arrangement will be a disaster for both parties. China's economy is being stretched thin of late; Canada has limited resources for the global market.
“I’m not sure how relations got to be so bad.” Maybe because someone is finally standing up to all those countries who have screwed us in the past. They don’t like that President Trump want the flaying field a little more level.
It certainly has nothing to do with the thoughtful musings by Trump or his bullying tactics he uses against people not working against governments.

Yep, they have been screwing American farmers with 300% tariffs for years and Trump, unlike feckless dem Presidents, is standing up to them. Trump should declare war on the Canadian economy and see how long it takes for them to beg for American statehood. Canada has never been good for much other than maple syrup and even that can be replaced.
Canada has been fully captured by the Chinese government. The country’s citizens have no idea they are captives. Arrogant fools.
