A Haines City, Florida, police officer has been charged with official misconduct after allegedly misusing Flock Safety surveillance cameras 717 times to track his estranged wife’s vehicle.
According to Tampa TV station WTSP, officer Christopher Goodson, 31, was charged Tuesday with multiple offenses. According to an affidavit obtained by the television station, Goodson used the surveillance system between Sept. 1, 2024, and June 30, 2026, entering his estranged wife’s license plate into the system to track her vehicle. Goodson allegedly used the system 280 times in September 2025 and 104 times in November 2025.
When asked for the reason behind his searches during questioning, Goodson cited justifications including assault/battery offenses, drugs and narcotics, and criminal motor vehicle offenses. The Haines City Police Department said the wife was not part of any investigation that would have legitimized the searches.
Goodson’s wife eventually learned of the tracking after a Washington Post reporter contacted her, requesting an interview for a story about officers misusing the system. After she told Goodson about the request, he went to the home of one of his superiors at the department and allegedly admitted to tracking the car to see where the couple’s kids were when they were with her.
Goodson has been placed on administrative leave with pay following his arrest, and the police department is still investigating the matter. ...

It’s not like anyone could anticipate something like this, right?
Bad cop, bad bad bad Cop.
Here take a nice vacation with pay until the dust settles.
I'm wondering how many criminals have been caught using Flock cameras?
All I've read about is cops tracking their Exes.
Anything that had a good intent will eventually be used for evil.
> Here take a nice vacation with pay until the dust settles.<
Either that or he’ll be fired. And then he’ll just move on down the road, and get a job with another department.
It happens all the time.

What i posted has to do with the Admin Leave the officer was put on - it’s simply leave with pay = vacation. Until they decided what to do as punishment.
> it’s simply leave with pay = vacation <
Yes, indeed. My previous post was in no disagreement with you.
Here’s the way it should be done: Any arrested public official should be put on leave without pay. Then if he is cleared, he gets all of his back pay plus generous interest.
Cheating ho no doubt. She’s lucky to be alive.
I sat on a jury a couple of months ago where the flock cameras tracked a drug runner. His story about his whereabouts didn't match the cameras, and of course he lied about everything. We found him guilty. He had 2 prior felonies and did time. Judge gave him 10 years.
Funny part was, he was pulled over because he wasn't wearing his seatbelt.
Some cities are putting them right on the police cars.
Not much worse than a dirty cop.
So, did it work?
Agreed!
When asked for the reason behind his searches during questioning, Goodson cited justifications including assault/battery offenses, drugs and narcotics, and criminal motor vehicle offenses.

Isn’t it interesting that the cops can come up with all these reasons for messing with us?
the cop was arrested. What are you looking for, torture?
That is one silly post, please dont even bother to explain where anyone mentioned “torture”.
