President Trump confirmed Wednesday he plans to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un later this year, the third sitdown between the two across the commander in chief’s two terms.***
“I get along with him, and you know what? The fact that I get along with him-that’s a good thing, not a bad thing,” Trump told reporters at the White House, adding that Kim has “57 very powerful nuclear weapons.”
Should have never allowed it to happen,” the president added. “They should have never allowed it. If I were president, I wouldn’t have allowed it. But he’s got them.”
Past intelligence assessments have indicated North Korea has between 50 and 60 active nuclear warheads, but Trump’s comments marked the first time a US official has given a specific number.

First we got the bomb and that was good,
’cause we love peace and motherhood;
then Russia got the bomb, but that’s okay,
’cause the balance of power’s maintained that way.
Who’s next?
France got the bomb, but don’t you but don't you grieve
'Cause they're on our side, I believe
China got the bomb, but have no fears
They can't wipe us out for at least five years!
Who’s next?
That’s bad news if they are going to commit suicide and take themselves, their people and South Korea with them.
Simple solution for the Iran situation ...
Trump: “Y’know, Kim ... the Ayatollah said some pretty nasty things about you ...”
N.Korea got to 57 nukes, under the 57 states president. One nuke for each state. ;-)
Just meet somewhere Kim can use a train to get to.
......Kim has “57 very powerful nuclear weapons.”......
Yikes!

I was thinking the same thing. “You know, 56 is really enough...”
I want to say that Trump shouldn’t be friendly to these dictators and he sounds naive. But then he demonstrates he’s also willing to suddenly kill your entire leadership. So I figure they all are afraid of what he might do.

Let’s finish the job in Iran. Regime change!
Wasting time with massmurderer Kim Jong UN / appeasing communist North Korea at the expense of our South Korean allies, is not a smart move.
And out troops.
Exactly what I was saying at the time. We should have said, "You shut it down, or we will shut you down."
But except for Trump, we have been governed by a collection of stupidity since Reagan.
Being thought of as crazy and unpredictable tends to cow your enemies into not starting sh*t that might annoy you.
Thank you. That was one of the songs my friend and I would sing to our third grade teacher. She’d get a real kick out of that song, as well as Pollution, National Brotherhood Week, and The Vatican Rag.
Well, not really the 57 states president.
Bill Clinton achieved agreement to normalize relations and even subsidize North Kores by US.
Kind of like the 57 states president did with Iran!
We basically saved the regime from total collapse just in exchange for some promises they never intended to keep.
Everybody with even basic knowledge of Communism would tell him that this will be the effect.
By 2003 they already made first nuclear test.
So blame Bill Clinton and his then chief negotiator, Jimmy Carter.
The White House has apparently decided to not participate with upcoming South Korean self-defense drills. That portrays America as weak and intimidated by communist North Korea. That move also hasmilitary consequences that directly helps North Korea on the field. It changes the whole strategy in favor of Kim Jong UN.
America must negotiate from a position of strength, not from a position of weakness.
I like Reagan’s phrase. Which was “Peace through Strength !”
The Norklandians are full of the most colorful BS bluster on the planet.
But their interest is defensive, and they are essentially rational.
She sounds like a great teacher. Lucky you guys!
North Korea gave an icy response to President Trump’s decision to end joint Washington-Seoul military exercises early, calling it an ineffectual goodwill gesture toward the Kim Jong Un regime.
In Pyongyang’s first public comments on the drill reductions, North Korea said the annual Ulchi Freedom Shield exercises remain provocative and hostile despite their scaled-down scope.
