Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon is speaking out about what he calls “outrageous” misconduct at Minneapolis polling sites after a conservative political commenter tried to impersonate Minnesota voters.
In the video, Cam Higby, a member of the “Justice League,” is dressed in a burqa and using an accent to try to vouch for others.
Higby says he was highlighting the state’s vouching laws. He alleges poll workers would let him vote under a random name; the video shows Higby leaving a polling place after being told he needed to sign an oath. The video also shows a worker explaining vouching rules to Higby.
Simon says poll workers immediately reported Higby’s visits to election officials. He went on to say the “apparent goal was to cast doubt on one or more Minnesota election laws,” adding, “instead, they revealed their ignorance of how those laws actually work — while putting themselves in legal jeopardy.”
Simon said law enforcement is reviewing Higby’s actions.
In Minnesota, vouching is used to provide proof of a voter’s residence and is most often utilized by senior citizens who have not updated their address.
According to the Secretary of State’s website, “Vouching can only be used to provide proof of a potential voter’s residence in the precinct. The potential voter must still provide their Minnesota driver’s license or ID card number or the last four digits of their social security number for identity verification.
Under the law, the only persons eligible to vouch are voters registered in the same precinct as the person for whom they are vouching, or employees of authorized residential facilities who provide proof of their employment at the facility. Vouchers must sign an affidavit under penalty of perjury that they personally know the person being vouched for is a resident of the precinct.”

Simon’s full statement is below:
“During Minnesota’s Primary on August 11, 2026, members of a widely discredited Florida-based political group visited several polling places in Minneapolis impersonating Minnesota voters. Dressed in what they called ‘Muslim’ costumes, and imitating foreign accents, they falsely claimed to be registered Minnesota voters. The group used concealed cameras to record their interactions with poll workers, releasing a heavily edited video of their encounters. Their apparent goal was to cast doubt on one or more Minnesota election laws that have been in force for over fifty years. Instead, they revealed their ignorance of how those laws actually work – while putting themselves in legal jeopardy.
“Poll workers immediately reported these visits to local election officials and law enforcement is reviewing the situation.
“The misconduct by this group is outrageous and totally unacceptable. We have zero tolerance for lying, lawbreaking, and disruptions at our polling places.
“Voters deserve better, as do the tens of thousands of our neighbors and friends who serve as poll workers. Our aim, as always, is to ensure that our polling places are islands of calm. Minnesota laws are there to ensure that outcome.”

classic leftist strategy - go on the attack against those who embarrass you.
Voter ID Trumps vouching. Step into the 21st Century please Vikings.
> the only persons eligible to vouch are voters registered in the same precinct as the person for whom they are vouching <
I live in a heavily D county. And yes, every time I vote someone at the registration table vouches for me. No ID needed.
No here’s the thing. I have no idea who the vouchers are. None at all. And I’m quite sure they don’t know me.
It would actually be funny if the consequences of this behavior weren’t so serious.
Wow they actually have that Law?
I thought the poll worker was doing something illegal.
That’s absolutely outrageous!
This negative story is just about the only way the public hears about a lot of the news from a normal perspective, at least some of the public will be able to read between the lines and see what was exposed.
Voting on the Honor System.
what bs
Why wouldn’t the ID have your address?
Oh yes, showing that they are to arrogant to admit that there is an issue or problem. But in all honesty, we know that the current system serves D’s and country club Repubs that very well.

Polling place impersonation is election interference, pure and simple. Glad the Secretary of State called it out. Secure elections require real consequences for this kind of stunt — not shrugs.
We saw the video, Steve. Y’all are cooked.
An undercover reporter exposes the fact that the “voucher” system is a sham, and the Secretary of State attacks the reporter. Well, of course. The fact that the poll worker lied about knowing that the reporter was a qualified voter means nothing to the Secretary of State.
In Minnesota, vouching is used to provide proof of a voter’s residence and is MOST OFTEN utilized by senior citizens who have not updated their address.
Liberal riots are MOST OFTEN peaceful.

A friend of mine was a long time poll worker in Minneapolistan. Vans filled with people would show up. One of them can vouch for up to 8 people. Since these people can’t read English the helper gets to go in the booth with them and help them vote. They then move on to the next precinct.
If you work at a homeless shelter you can vouch for as many as you want.
And you don’t need any kind of ID to register to vote here.
This is not a secret. This information is available on the Sec of State website under election laws.
Minneapolistan has a surprisingly high voter turnout every election.
Bullshit.
They were impersonating muslims asking about voting.

There ain’t no voter fraud boy
So your suggestion is that we play by the rules, whike our adversaries break the rules, so that they can always win and take the state down the toilet.
If you must, consider the impersonation an act of civil disobedience for the purpose of speaking truth to evil power.
All Alinsky, all the time. This is the “Accuse your accuser” Alinsky rule..
That’s how all the Somali scum can vote!
