Christian nationalist influence on Tarrant County government the focus of upcoming panel discussion
Fort Worth Report ^ | August 6, 2026 | Cecilia Lenzen

A group of Tarrant County civic organizations aims to educate voters about the influence of religious nationalism in state and local government with a panel discussion and day of action Saturday.

The League of Women Voters of Tarrant County planned the event as a way to educate neighbors about what they see as an attack on democracy, president Janet Mattern told the Fort Worth Report.

The league is concerned about “the gutting of voting rights,” the elimination of diversity, equity and inclusion programs, and other local government policy changes they believe are often traced to a common factor, Mattern said.

“That movement is the Christian nationalist movement, and they have been working towards undermining our democracy,” Mattern said.

Stupid pearl clutching over citizens, including elected officials, constitutionally expressing their Christian beliefs and practices. These leftists are deranged.

FYI, Tarrant County (Fort Worth) is one of the few large metropolitan counties with a decidedly conservative majority. The sheriff is no exception. This is what enrages the League of Women Voters communists so much.

“they have been working towards undermining our democracy”

Another term used incorrectly all the time by libs. We are a constitutional republic.

Yeah, I used to reference their election literature for clues on candidates, but that was probably 20 years ago. They’ve been captured like almost every other institution.

I just wish we’d repeal the 19th Amendment and make the LWV irrelevant.

Jesus shall reign where’er the sun
does its successive journeys run,
his kingdom stretch from shore to shore,
till moons shall wax and wane no more!

The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”

Muslims are trying to take Texas over and this nitwit is worried about the “Christian nationalist movement.” Ship him out for a long stay in Pakistan and we’ll see if he views things differently.

Years ago, during the ERA battles, I knew and helped some of Phyllis Schlafly's Florida allies. They were a great group, smart, dedicated, and exceptional political strategists and organizers. They (and many, many other conservative women) are a potent argument for women voting and in politics.

As for the League of Women Voters, Phyllis's people called them the "League of Women Vipers," or just "the Vipers" for short.

If the dummy Cecilia thinks she does not like Christians and hates the influence of religious nationalism, just wait till she gets a big fat dose of MUZZY “religious nationalism.”

Then again she will probably think she deserves to be a slave and will continue to whine until they kill her.
