Iranian leadership has a dramatic new list of eight demands that the United States must follow to reach Donald Trump's goal of reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
The key waterway has been closed for much of the time since the war on Iran began in late February.
Iran's politburo-like body known as the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said the Strait of Hormuz will not open until the United States 'corrects its behavior,' issuing new demands that could shake up talks on a deal to manage the waterway and traffic on it.
The head of Iran's SNSC, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, has given the list that includes some previously unheard of requests.
Many have been previously brought up, including ending the war permanently, stopping the US Naval blockade, withdrawing military forces.
From there, Zolghadr wants the US end sanctions on Tehran, unfreeze Iranian assets and even pay reparations to the Iranians to reopen the strait.
The US would also have to stop threatening and insulting Iran and end all military action against Iranian allies in the region, state news agency Islamic Republic News Agency reports.
Zolghadr, who is also a commander in the powerful Revolutionary Guard, reports directly to Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who is currently mulling over a deal with Oman to manage the strait.

Scott Bessent has said the Strait is going to worthless in a couple of years, because all the other ME countries will have pipelines and ports of their own.
And for months I had thought that the USA opened the Straight, and was keeping it open.

Treasury secretary Bessent said there will be no need for the strait in 2 years as the pipelines will soon send the oil across Saudi Arabia in underground pipelines. That’s a lot of work and I don’t see how the volume can keep up. It also suggests Iran will be a threat no matter who’s in charge meaning everyone’s crazy.
In their Baghdad Bob-ism, the Iranians accidentally expose their weakness by “demanding” the US “allow” them to do x and y.
It’s almost funny in a dark way....

Seems like a big piece of land where nobody is in charge. The diplomats and parliament want to end this.
The IRGC wants to burn the world down and sit on the pile of ash.
and Houthis, Hizbollah on the attack. finish the job, POTUS.
Well, not surprising. They want war, and have declared it on us for 47 years in a row. Violated the first agreement. Clearly, the had the capability to attack one ship in a week. Who knows now that China resupplied them. The Chinese are going to cut off their own oil supply by supporting Iran. We should plan on sinking every ship that goes into Iranian waters. Every train and road that goes in and out of Iran should be closed. Every port in Iran should destroyed, and notice given by leaflet that the residents should evacuate the port cities.
Trump needs to go to Congress for War declaration. We need to displace every Iranian east, into the arms of their Muslim brothers. We need to end this nearly 50 year old conflict.
Is Trump ever going to learn they can’t be trusted? They are making him look like a fool every time he stops a bombing campaign “to negotiate.
If Hormuz were gay instead of strait, the Democrats would do everything in their power to keep it open.
I’ll be sirius. Iran wants a war because
a) it thinks the more Trump gets involved the more likely the Dems take over and go baksheesh on them as they have always done,
b) they think they’re the Farsi version of Ukraine and can keep us stuck while making us look weak,
c) they want Mr. Twelve to come out of that well and establish the Moongod Paradise.
Probably a few other reasons, but back to work before church for me
