Texas forces Discord to implement UK-style age verification and safety rules

AUSTIN, Texas - Texas announced on Friday that Discord has agreed to a temporary injunction that will require the messaging platform to implement in Texas the same age-assurance and default safety features that it already provides for users in the United Kingdom.

Those who know what is going on in the UK related to the internet have a lot to fear about this.

I can't believe this area of foreign law from the UK is being imported into Texas of all places, I would have expected maybe California.

The thing of it is, is that if first they can get your age and establish the precedent, then they can get the rest of the camel into your tent. They can then get your name. Then get your address. Then get your whatever else they want.

It's always the camel's nose. Your personal computing/phone device then becomes their personal doxxing agent. We're from the government and we are here to help.
