A mass shooting at Leinbach Park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on Monday (April 20) left two teenagers dead and five others injured, according to local authorities. Police said the violence began as a planned fight involving several young people, which escalated into gunfire around 9:52 a.m.
Officers arrived to find Erubey Romero Medina, 17, dead in the parking lot and Daniel Jimenez Millian, 16, dead inside the park. Both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Five other young people—a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl, an 18-year-old boy, and a 19-year-old girl—were also shot, with injuries ranging from minor to critical, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department. Their names have not been released due to their ages and the ongoing investigation.

Well, actually, it is a Latino-Spanish American gang fight near a Southern city. The shots fired hit the people who were fighting, and enough bullets hit accurately enough to kill the people shooting at each other.
(It this were in downtown Chicago or St Louis or Philly, more shots would have missed, and the only people killed would be bystanders looking on or trying to evade the spray of bullets.)
Gang shootings need their own category. The powers that be use them to pad their stats for “mass shootings.”

Not sure on this. Thee are a number of definitions of mass shootings that could make this qualify. Easiest is when a number of people get together for anything, to include a fight, and someone opens up on them where three or more are either killed or injuryed not to include the shooter. I wouldn’t put it past a gang to get the opposing gang together just to shoot them. Saves time and money.
