Darline Graham pledges to nuke the filibuster, stand ‘100% behind’ Trump’ in South Carolina Senate primary debate

Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) expressed support for nuking the Senate filibuster and pledged to stand “100% behind” President Trump during a debate Monday in the South Carolina Senate primary race for her late brother’s seat.

The debate marked Graham’s first political test in her barely two-week-old campaign to succeed one of the most influential GOP senators in history – her older brother, Lindsey Graham, who died of an aortic rupture last month.

“One of the first things I did was co-sponsor the Save America Act,” Darline Graham noted. “As I said earlier, I’m willing to stay through recess to get it done. What’s up with recess anyway? Who gets a month off from work?

“I think we should stay up there and work and get it done.”

Graham indicated that she’s willing to scrap the Senate’s 60-vote threshold to pass the Trump-backed voting integrity bill – noting that it’s a step further than Lindsey would go in support of mandatory voter-ID legislation.

That’s wonderful news. We still shouldn’t pass Senate seats to Senators’ family members as if they are royalty.

Keeping seats in the family doesn’t seem very American like.

So? You don’t live in SC.

If she runs and wins, so be it.

She could possibly be better than “He who will not be named”’s Wingman.

Who knows?

100%, I live in SC. I didn’t vote for her. NFW she should just be handed a senate seat. Very Un-American. The damn seats should remain vacant until the next scheduled election.

Grift ‘til election day, then go full Monty.

OK til the new Senator can be elected.

Voters get the same continuing staffers running things til they get to choose a new Senator.

Then, get this wingnut out.

Is her last name Graham, or Nordone? Some articles have it as Graham, others Nordone, other a double last name (though not hyphenated) of Graham Nordone.

That’s up to the voters. We’ll see when they have their primary and if she wins, the whole family thing is out the window.

Did you say the same when Ashley Moody was handed the Senate seat? Or when Jon Hulsted was handed his seat, you were suspiciously silent. Hmmmm.

I could go on and on.

There is an enormous difference between appointing Ashley Moody to a vacated Senate seat than appointing the sister of a deceased senator. Ashley Moody had already served six years as Attorney General in Florida.

“Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) expressed support for nuking the Senate filibuster...”
That alone should disqualify her, why is she being seriously considered at all?

Hooray for Darline. She is 100% behind Trump, and she is not a RINO.
