Dr. Kedar to Arutz Sheva: If you're going to make a deal with Hamas, this is how
Arutz Sheva ^ | 3/8/26 | Dr. Mordechai Kedar

The possibility of an agreement with Hamas is reigniting the question of whether Israel is repeating past mistakes when it puts trust in a terrorist organization that some say sees deals as merely a tactical means and not a binding obligation.

In an interview with Arutz Sheva-Israel National News, Middle East expert Dr. Mordechai Kedar warns that the safest way to avoid falling into a trap is to refrain from signing deals with Hamas.

"They have a long history of violating agreements," he said. "As far as they're concerned, particularly when it comes to non-Muslims, deception, hiding, stalling for time, and cheating are legitimate means to reach a goal. This modus operandi is based on the Hudaibiya Pact (signed by Mohammed in 628 AD), which they see as merely temporary.

According to Kedar, the Hudaibiya Pact, which various Islamic organizations rely on, is seen as an arrangment which may be violated the moment the balance of power changes. "As long as they don't have power, they sign, but the second they gain power, as far as they're concerned, the agreement is no longer binding. Therefore, anyone who signs with them has to understand that the agreement may be broken the moment they have an interest to do so."

That being said, Dr. Kedar does not rule out signing a deal for diplomatic reasons if it serves a broader Israeli interest. "If we want to make a move that enables diplomatic achievements with the White House or in preparation for another move, we can sign. But we can not make a mistake and think that this is true peace. We have to understand that this is a game."

Land for piece. Land for piece, man. It's never been tried, man. All we are saying is give piece a chance.

“…some say sees deals as merely a tactical means and not a binding obligation.”

“Some”? Who are the idiots who would believe otherwise?

I agree with the author. NEVER make an agreement with these murderers and rapists, including Iran. Tell them we will have your unconditional surrender, or you will not be alive much longer. Period. If you ever got their surrender, then you could work out the details. If you lived in Israel as a non-Arab, then you would never let an Arab repair anything or use other services unless you had to. And if you had one do plumbing, you always check the pipes to make sure there are no rags, rocks, or other obstructions put there. Trump should know this. And hopefully, he does.

Didn't Bibi say eliminating Hamas was the goal?

Circumstances alter cases I guess.

But eliminating Israel remains the goal for Hamas, even if they agree to back off for a little while.

“Who are the idiots who would believe otherwise?”

The idiots.

But some merely say that, and use agreements with Hamas as merely a tactical means to ending their sorry a@@es.

There is no such thing as making a deal with terrorists who are nothing more than seventh century savages. The only effective solution is to annihilate them.

Reverse Hudna and Taqiyya them. Make a deal, they celebrate and think they won, and then do unto them, as the Greeks did unto the Trojans, only engineer it so that they break the deal first, and then rain on them like the great flood. That’s the Trump doctrine if ever there was one.

Never trust them. No other country wanted or wants the Palestinians, they CAN’T be trusted. They were building tunnels into Egypt but got caught.
Israel must put soldiers there and settlements in the west bank. Screw them if they don’t like it. Shoot them when they get out of line, no questions.
There are no “moderate” Palestinians, I lost a friend when I pointed this out.

I don’t ever think it’s been the Israelis trusting the savages. It’s been - and still is - the US pressuring Israel to back off and agree to some make-believe ‘agreement’.

This will never end until the savages are crushed.

“All we are saying is give piece a chance.”

It’s very hard to give anyone a chance in the US or the immediate location of our allies when except being a religion in a few misguided countries, anywhere else in the world they are considered a deadly terrorist group. I guess you can have it both ways. We shouldn’t let them here. And any country that allows them safe haven inside their borders is protecting an inhumane sect for humanitarian purposes.

“There are no “moderate” Palestinians”

But there are. You have to be absolutely sure, and bind them to you with kindnesses, but those that there are of the moderates live in an environment that is strongly hostile to moderation.

No, man. Land for peace has been tried. Land for piece, though, it’s never been tried. All you need is to chug a big drag of meth, and unleash your inner death wish, man. What a square.

I agree. After defeating Germany in WWII, after which Japan was no longer a direct military threat to us, we could have asked for a peace agreement with them - allowing the Empire to stay intact but with some concessions. We didn't, because we knew that it would not guarantee a change in behavior and eradication of the potential threat they represented.

They had Korea, Taiwan, parts of China, Vietnam, and other Pacific rim nations. We could have possibly sued for peace, with some concessions from them, but the Empire would stay intact - just like what will happen if we negotiate with the regime in Iran who have been saying openingly for decades "Death to America, and Death to Israel".

Any negotiated deal that allows the mullahs and radical theocrats to maintain power will not change anything, and won't secure peace and safety for the Middle East or any nation vulnerable to Iran-backed terror.

We want the Sinai back! Won it fair and square twice, and gave it back both times. What do we have to show for it. Is Egypt doing anything with it? No. Wait. They are bothering the Bedouins. That’s doing something, anyway. And the Gazans can have a nice strip of Med coastline to found a state in, hard by the Suez Canal. Fishing, resorts, desalination, shipping. The whole nine yards.
