France and Italy bolstered border controls on Saturday after about 60,000 people crossed into Spain's enclave in North Africa, sparking one of the largest migrant crises for the European Union in recent years.
The migrants entered Ceuta from Morocco, the enclave's regional president Juan Jesus Vivas told reporters, but by Friday evening officials said more than 48,000 had returned. To cross into Ceuta, many swam around a small border barrier that juts out into the Mediterranean. At least 34 people died in the attempt. The sudden influx sparked an international crisis.
France tightened checks on its border with Spain and said it would increase its police presence there fivefold to 334 officers and gendarmes by Saturday. Italy announced it had suspended its Schengen agreement with Spain allowing for visa-free movement between borders.

But didn’t the cheese eating surrender monkeys vote in the EU against stronger border controller along with Ireland et al just like yesterday?
I still cant figure out why letting in millions of Indians and Pakistanis into the USA to run all of our computer systems is not a “crisis”. Please explain this to me?
But we have a problem - the majority of people who are getting Masters and PhDs in Computer Science are foreign nationals. How do we correct that? We don't produce nearly enough undergrads even to possibly fill those spaces. We don't produce enough high school students who have nearly the math skills.
It's a problem. And I suppose we aren't ready to stop having an internet, or companies to stop having security. So, it's a problem, but I don't see anyone with an answer.
Indians work for less pay. It has nothing to do with inventory.
Installing water barriers are ONLY a cause for liberal hand ringing if it’s the US on the other side of the barrier...
I don’t think these EU leaders are all that upset about is happening in Spain, what they are upset about is that 60,000 people ran across the border in one day, if that number of people were spread out over a couple of months it would not have been a problem and would not have made a top story all over the world.
Bad PR for the EU, that’s all.
France with millions of invaders.
IMO, there is no difference between the 60,000 that ran across the Spanish border in a single day versus the number that come across the English Channel every day.
1,000 a day for 60 days isn’t a major news story versus 60,000 in a single day.
Exactly. Feigned outrage
France and Italy are hypocrites, the French are aiding Muslims in crossing the English Channel into the UK on a daily basis, they gather in Calais in camps waiting for the weather to be suitable enough to cross in rubber boats.
Meloni in Italy has deported just enough people to make it seem like she is taking on the problem without really stopping anything.
They could handle 1,000 Muslims a day, they can’t handle 60,000 in a single day which would destroy their entire narrative that they are dealing with the issue on the surface without doing anything to really stop the problem.
60,0000 people dont wake up with the exact same thought the same day. It takes coordination to do this and Morocco is to blame.
If true - wouldn't that be an international head line, all by itself?
Re: "Migrant influx"
The mob was 100% teenage boys.
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Deep States worldwide use the same playbook.
Yep!
Well isn’t THAT just a day late and a dollar short....
Just another example of Franceās terrible human rights recordā¦..those poor migrants. /s
Enough with the āmigrantsā BS. None of them are ālooking for a better lifeā. Thereās not a family anywhere. No woman. No children. If there was, the propaganda media would have them crying and telling their sob story on camera. None of the mutts had so much as a backpack. Did any of them go to the local employment office? I didnāt think so.
The suicide of Europe continuesā¦.
