Trump says U.S. has ‘not agreed to’ grant Ukraine Patriot missile licenses

President Donald Trump on Friday said the U.S. “has not agreed” to grant Ukraine licenses to produce Patriot missile systems, apparently backtracking on one of Kyiv’s top priorities in its war against Russia.

The advanced military technology is “a hard thing to give away,” Trump said at a Cabinet meeting at Camp David, adding that a country that receives it could “someday turn on you.”

“You have to be very careful,” Trump said. He said the U.S. and Ukraine are still “talking about it.”

Trump’s latest comments on the war in eastern Europe came three days after he spoke at the White House with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who said the leaders had a “good meeting” about the Patriot licenses.

POTUS should have consulted Lockheed and RTX before making such a commitment.

They nixed it.

President Trump never intended to give Patriot missile production license to Ukraine

He was just getting a read on Zelensky’s desire to entertain peace negotiations

There is zero chance that the US does an air defense tech transfer to a corrupt place like Ukraine

The statement about Lockheed nixing it is a rumor per AI.

On July 31, 2026, during a Cabinet meeting at Camp David, President Trump said he have not made a agreement to do that, and emphasized caution over sharing high-end U.S. missile technology.

You really don’t think that the Ukrainins didn’t attempt to reverse engineer the 90 Patriots that Trump gave them on January 29, 2025? How about the 100 additional and more advanced Patriots that the Trump Administration approved of in May of 2025?
