The president came, he saw, he joked, he insulted and talked too long. And yet, Donald Trump’s presence was the major reason why the White House Correspondents’ dinner was such a smashing success.

“A make-up event for the dinner in April that was dramatically cut short by a would-be assassin’s attempt to kill Trump and members of his cabinet, Friday’s version turned out to be far better and much more meaningful than the original would have been.

Over at FaceBook, I’m amazed that the line, “8647” is everywhere. There’s no embarrassment or shame for these threats on our democratically-elected President (who is every American’s President). I fear greatly for this entire administration’s survival.

Every other “Reel” is a slanderous attack—afternoons, especially.

I like that. The Chinese woman sitting next to Trump who I guess was CBS senior correspondent, didn’t like when Trump put on the 2028 hat and said he was making his 4th run for President of the United States. TDS on display and so frigging obvious. She didn’t even try to fake it.

Why does the President feel compelled to even talk with the legacy media, the audience for which is shrinking and influence eclipsing. Is he still mentally living in the 1980s and 1990s, when the alphabet networks, CNN, and the print media were dominant? The media landscape of 2026 is entirely different.

Reminded me of when Obama's administration was photographed outside the White House after Trump won.

They failed him in PA and DC. Every time I hear Trump praise the secret service, I think of that bumbling agent with his back to the magnetometer when Cole Tomas Allen quickly and easily ran past him.

I think when Trump give this praise, he really wants to trash them for being so incompetent, or maybe even complicit. Reverse psychology or something. The praise seems so inauthentic.
