GREENVILLE, S.C.—Businessman Mark Lynch renewed his Senate campaign Monday following the sudden death of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R), South Carolina.
“A lot of you have asked. Yes, it’s official. I’m committed to finish what God has called us to since February of 2025. To bring the U.S. Senate seat of South Carolina back to TRUE Conservative leadership for the Republican party. I want to again personally thank all of you who supported us with your time, treasures and talents, your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Now I'm calling on you again as we FINISH this fight,” Lynch wrote on X.
Graham was set to be the Republican nominee in this November’s Senate election, beating Lynch in last month’s primary. The late senator earned 57% of the vote, with Lynch garnering 29%.
Graham’s death triggered a special primary election to be scheduled for August 11, with a potential runoff race on August 25.
Lynch is the first to publicly announce a primary campaign, but several Republicans across the state are reportedly mulling over launching their own bids for the coveted Senate spot.

Lindsey Graham was NEVER a true conservative, he was a fence sitter. I never trusted which way he would go, especially when he hung out with slimeballs John McCain and Mitt Romney.
Mark Lynch would be an improvement.
He believes it’s his calling and who can blame him
Watching with interest
I put my ballot for him.
Keep an eye on Graham’s grieving sister...is she just gonna be a place holder or try and run for the seat herself?
There’s not much time for anyone to make a decision and gear up a campaign, which works to Lynch’s advantage.
Lynch is in a good position then he just re-activates his entire campaign apparatus and carries on
That was my fear when Trump pushed her. This is a chance for a real conservative. I don’t trust Graham’s sister one bit.
Gotta remember that Lindsey was one of the biggest ego strokers/ass kissers to ever be in the senate.
This is why Trump stuck his nose where it didn’t belong.
And also why Trump kept endorsing him.
Trump’s a populist, not a conservative. I have been stating this since 2016 on this board.
UP until last week I didn’t even know Graham had a sister, so I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.
If she’s a place holder focused on preserving her brother’s legacy then I don’t see a problem with her appointment.
If she files papers to run for the seat, then all bets are off.
