President Donald Trump said Iran “called a little while ago” and “wants a deal so badly” after the United States launched a second consecutive night of strikes against Iranian targets, but questioned whether Tehran is “worthy” of an agreement while warning that any future attacks would be met with overwhelming force.
Speaking aboard Air Force One while returning to Washington from the NATO summit in Ankara on Wednesday night, Trump said Tehran had reached out after the latest round of U.S. strikes, which reportedly marked the first American attacks on Iranian infrastructure since the April 8 ceasefire and followed Iran’s attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
“They called a little while ago. They want to make a deal so badly,” Trump said. “I just don’t know if they’re worthy of making a deal. I don’t know if they’re going to honor the deal. That’s the problem.”
Asked why Iran would attack commercial vessels if it wanted an agreement, Trump said the regime was “sort of crazy” and “a little bit out of control,” even as he maintained Tehran was still seeking talks.
“They want to make a deal — badly,” he said.

Sure doesn’t seem like it.
Sorry, I don't believe they called or that they want a deal "so badly".
Don’s act is growing thin. It’s comical at this point.
Finish them off already...
A few weeks ago, I would have called you a TDS-tard, but it has become absolutely clear that Iran has no interest in making a deal, and with Trump worried about the mid-terms, the IRCG is sitting in the catbird seat having called our bluff.
I no longer believe anything Trump says regarding this.
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
yeah - they want to tie us up for years “”negotiating” something not worth the paper it is printed on.groundhog day.
Iran wants to drag this out until the midterms in November. Trump would be wise not to play into their hands, lest he get impeached for a third time for violating the War Powers Act.
The responsible people running the civilian government want a deal. They’re the ones trying to limit the damage done to the people. The religious army wants to make sure no deal is made. The civilian government does not control the religious army.
What nobody in the civilian government wants is a revolution where the civilian army, which is poorly equipped and the religious army, the IRGC go to war. They’d be looking at four or five years of agony.
The civilians call for opening the strait and the IRGC bomb ships. Trump is correct. I wish he’d explain the situation better. He’s not the teacher type.
No, Mr President, they don’t want a deal. They want the death of the West and the global extension of their damnable caliphate. That’s what they want.
All the talking, posturing, and hoping will not change that.
Our best bet, today, is to kill them.
Get to it.
The ironic part about all of this, other than the fact that anybody could write the script of what Trump is going to say about Iran, is that Trump frames his arguments in quasi-sexual terms, Iran wants it so bad, they’re begging for a deal. But the only person getting screwed is Trump and his presidency by Iran. It’s gone totally off the rails over this war.
The regime over there would have the regime over here apologizing soon if not for Donald J Trump President. Of course there still exists that propensity in DC supported in kind by their media pals.
Try dealing with the IGRC.
“Finish them off already.”

Start by taking Kharg Island. Show them we mean real business. Use it as a forward base. It will be a boost to the militia.
It's just you, and a few other other MAGA-boomrs trying to cope with your icon's colossal failure.
Sub three digit IQs and identity politics will do that.
Agree totally. Give it back to them when they turn over the nuclear material and have a year or two of compliance.
Periodic strikes are a small price to pay while the Iranian mullahs wait out the rapid islamization of a few key U.S. areas. The islamic grip on the democrats is only getting stronger, and one election cycle could be enough for them to get beyond the point of caring.

Great post. Well said. He should have a press conference again with JDV, Rubio, Bessent, Hegseth, and JCOS. That first one was excellent. If Trump won’t teach, the others can.
Maybe we need another 60 day cease-fire.
